decat advise
 

hi can someone advise me iv just put a new afterburner vortex on my 99 gc8 sti now i want to get the same decat pipe do i need to remap it after. my down pipe from the turbo has already been done, i just dont no if it needs remapping or not. thanks
also i have an ecu for sale i had to change mine back to standard because i had a problem on start up it struggled to start up properly but once its going its fine it running at 1.3 bar im not sure if its worth selling or not carnetix who i take my car to said i just need to find someone who can tweek it then it will be fine :cuckoo:

I think Race Dynamix is down your was, or Simon JGM, both know what they are doing,

open source is about £300 for a full map, they will let you know first

If your not mapping for the extra power which is there to be had, its always worth it just for the safety.

I'am pretty sure 99/00 cars cant use open source mapping only newage iirc,it will have to be ecutek or aftermarket alcatek,or simtek. If your car has been mapped already then it will be a simple tweak to the map to allow for the increased exhaust flow .If it has not been repmapped,then as stated earlier on ,it is worth having it mapped ,just for piece of mind imho.
