Which CAT to remove to still pass MOT?

My Impreza is the UK MY00 turbo wagon with 2 cats one in the down pipe and the other in centre pipe would it still pass MOT if I put a De-cat front pipe on leaving the centre CAT?

I was originally thinking of going the Sports CAT route then having a de-cat centre pipe but sounds like sports CAT down pipes have limited life and more expensive than De-CAT up pipes.

Has anyone else done this and does it still pass MOT’s?

Its a resonator in the centre section (assuming classic) so removing the downpipe cat would effectively decat the system!

I thought that originally but aparently the UK 2000 is fitted with 2 CAT's not just the one on up pipe.

My 52 plate bug just failed on emissions for the second time. I've just got one cat in the centre and it has a de-cat from the turbo! Its just failed on co being to high! I only have a tiny little cat as the garage(cowboys) i bought it from welded it into the de-cat pipe. And it hasn't lasted so i need a bigger cat to get it through. Put it in and see how it goes. Good luck

Chatting to others sounds like it's not worth doing if it's the only Mod I’m doing since all it will do is increase exhaust noise and give very little improvement.
