Ive got some wrx wheels 17" 5x100 could I squeeze 235x45x17 r888 's on them ?

yes but 7.5 /8 width wheel would be ideal if memory serves

I belive so, I've got same size tyres on sti wheels, not sure if they are same width as wrx

The wrx wheels are 7.5 j DI should be ok I need to use them as wets for sprint in Friday at Blyton park
