Get Tasker. You can program all kinds of stuff on an Android phone with it.
You can get it to text you it's GPS location, take a picture of anyone that trys to unlock the phone when it's missing, loads and loads of stuff.

Mine's set up for different text message noises for different contacts, it reads out any text messages that I get sent when Im driving, all kinds of useful stuff

It's in Google Play and you can trail it for a week for free, i think that can be extended, and it's about £3 to buy.

It's a bit fiddly to get to grips with at first but once you get your head around it's language it's amazing what it'll do

Wow! That Tasker app is awesome. Still not sure how to program it but I've got it doing simple stuff like turning wifi off when I get 500mtrs from home. It used to annoy me when 3G wouldn't work cos it was trying to access wifi all the time.

Once you get to grips with it it's a really amazing App, maybe the most useful ever?!?

I think the Tasker Wiki is quite old and a few versions back. I've found a post on a website by a techy geek who describes how Tasker should be programed and it's helped me a lot.

Any help/links would be appreciated. Currently trying to program it to send a text at a specific gps position?

I have been looking at "find my droid". I need to manage many many android devices and do I am still looking for something. I would dearly love some app that would give me as precise gps coordinates as possible, specifically elevation. In addition I would want to geofence an area. The idea being; I can find out where in the building a device is, or if not in the building the where it is.

Basic, but a bit of a mission. Google should have built this in by now.
