EVO VIII MR Full Carbon Wrap.

Thought I would share a few pics. I took the plunge & had a full carbon wrap done, I know it's not gonna be to everyone's taste but I think it's awesome....

Very nice :thumb:

How much did it set you back?

beef-on-the-bone 01 July 2012 09:03 AM

like that :)

Jamo 01 July 2012 09:38 AM

looks cool, how much??

super_ted 01 July 2012 10:27 AM

Looks really nice & stealth looking. Love the wheels also. Only thing i don't like is the mirrors, imo they make it look too skinny.

lgtuk 01 July 2012 10:34 AM

How much how much????????

Rob_Impreza99 01 July 2012 10:38 AM

Nice work, like someone says above it has a stealth look, wigth it being stealth like i wonder if its invisible to radar ? Test it out on a speed camera and report back ;)

One thing ive always wonder about that carbon wrap, what happens if you accidentally get a nick in the carbon or a fair size scratch, it could get costly to keep it looking that way if sections have to be replaced to to scratches and nicks etc. I guess time would be the overall test of how it handles normal day conditions.

DYK 01 July 2012 10:50 AM

Quite like the look of that, would have different wheels on it though....

Rbon91 01 July 2012 10:54 AM

donny andi 01 July 2012 12:09 PM

I'll sit on the fence :)
I saw a 7 in Leeds and tbh it looked well from a distance....but up close it didn't .

To be fair wrapping has come on a bit nowadays :thumb:

Thanks for your comments guys.

A picture freezes it at that exact moment but seeing it in the flesh & different light conditions it seems to be ever changing. What you might see when it's parked somewhere, you won't see when it's parked somewhere else, it's weird but in a good way.

In the 3rd pic down for instance, it looks like there is a large crease just above the wheel but I didn't see it when I took the pic & I can't see it now, there is no crease, only in that pic.

The only thing so far that I have a gripe about is that it's a magnet for dust & fingerprints. It definitely looks best in sunlight I think, unless you prefer the matte look. Time will tell how long it lasts. If I damage it then I could just get that section replaced, but I don't know how much that would cost. Probably not cheap.

I paid £1750 to get it done professionally, using Hexis wrap.

I have a few bit done on my car , and got a bit of polish on it . . . . nightmare ! When washing it it disappeared , but everytime it dried it appeared again. Ended up having to use a toothbrush to get it out off all the wee groves.

lgtuk 01 July 2012 04:13 PM

It looks good bud one question though do u need to change the car colour with the dvla as u may keep getting pulled as you've technically change the whole car colour they might think its on false plates??????

bioforger 01 July 2012 05:46 PM

It's too matte for my liking, cars need to be glossy :)

My polishing days were over long ago. All three of my scoobys were black & a right bitch to keep clean & shiny.
