snapped caliper bolts
 

had a nightmare today, whilst removing my caliper bolts on the rear gold brembos on the scoob 2 bolts have snapped in half on one caliper, and 1 thread on the other caliper has disintigrated, bit peed off to say the least, any one else had this problem? gonna get um helicoiled i think, im beginning to dislike my car now :(

very common issue tbh

bit of a **** tbh, but there you go, my mate is gonna get um helicoiled for me i hope, just gotta take calipers off tomoz, gave me a headache indeed...

Mine too a few yrs ago. Repaired with machine inserts which are stronger than helicoils.

Any history of the fronts going as well?

Yes, been there! Fortunately, I was able to drill out the remains of the bolt with minimal damage to the caliper thread. A new bolt with a few turns of PTFE tape did the trick.
