Bugeye Diffuser

As it says, but not the HT Autos ones - I'm after a Varis style rear diffuser preferably in black but if the price is right I would consider carbon.

This is the style, happy to take a universal or one designed for other cars as long as it hasn't been drilled to death to fit:thumb:

Also after the HT Auto style rear corner splitters...

Spotted this on eBay if any good

JonMc 09 July 2012 10:42 PM

Thanks mate, but I want it to run under the car and not be just cosmetic, also I've got some blob spats fitted which means that won't fit:(

legacy_gtb 10 July 2012 07:46 AM

Hows about this?

I have the same one, havent fitted it yet, but happy enough with the quality of it.

JonMc 10 July 2012 08:37 AM

That's exactly what I'm after mate, but with a lot of other things I want to get done I thought I'd try and get one second hand for less cash:norty:

JonMc 04 August 2012 07:27 PM

Still looking - always good for a second hand bargain:thumb:

X70cky 06 August 2012 03:25 PM

I've fitted the OEM hawkeye sti diffuser.....but to fit a bugeye you also upgrade the ARB to a cusco one with the diffuser mounting points and brackets ;0) 1 mod led to another happy handling so not just looks......

JonMc 06 August 2012 03:49 PM

Already got an uprated roll bar and I can get an OE hawk diffuser and fitting kit for just over a ton, but I don't want an OE one - I'm after the varis style one:thumb:

X70cky 06 August 2012 04:35 PM

Fitting kit? Where from? I bought the OEM diffuser and they don't fit unless you have the Cusco ARB a mate of mine has bought the diffuser and was waiting on me fitting the ARB before he goes out and gets the same.....so if you can just get a fitting kit pass the details on mate I will give him a shout ;0)

JonMc 06 August 2012 05:45 PM

Not seen the kit on it's own but here's the diffuser and fitting kit:thumb:

Yeh that's the 1 my mate bought but bug/blob don't have the right fixing points at the back the bracket fits just behind the bumper on all models they fit all hawks tho.......cheers tho fella I guess he will have to buy the cusco ARB or drill through the boot floor :0(

Erm, no you don't!

The ARB isn't changed, what's being fitted is an additional brace.

And fitted, before I swapped the OEM ARB for a Whiteline one;

Really it's not a replacement for the ARB? Ffs eh! Lol it's getting delivered tomorrow morning so saying I've fitted meaning am fitting.....so it does nothing for the handling? Cheers for the info but looks like am after more parts now........S.A.F.C

mickywrx 07 August 2012 07:54 PM

Nope it's not a replacement. It wouldn't be very good if it was, it's narrower than the standard ARB.

Possibly helps stiffen the rear end up a little, and looks nice when new.

Looks tatty as hell after a couple of months though.

X70cky 07 August 2012 08:16 PM

Yeh it got delivered today like you said looks good new.....might be worth getting it powder coated first, ive also got a prodrive diff guard am going to get brackets made for to drop it slightly as it looks like the diffuser will hide it once fitted

JonMc 09 September 2012 10:13 PM

Bump, someone must have one:D

K mate, thought you were after carbon fiber only as I know you couldnt get a carbon fiber one for half the price as mine, if your after just an FRP style diffuser I can have a look for you?

I was watching a CF one on the Bay last week for £160, same people who make the FRP one I am considering - ideally I'm after a second-hand one as I need a new gearbox and love a bargain:D

FAZ@CARBONFINISH 11 September 2012 12:30 PM

Dont we all :) Yeah i dont usually match eBay carbon prices, not convinced on some of the quality they sell tell you what thought, have a look on my site carbonfinish.co.uk as I have a few designs tell me the one your after and i can get you a FRP price

The type A diffuser is about the closest you do to the style shown in the first post. The dilemma is that your diffusers are aimed at the V8/9 rear bumpers and mine is a V7 which is different - I'd be loathed to pay money when I don't know how much adaptation would be needed whereas the universal varis one is quite a straight-forward fit:wonder:

LewisL 12 September 2012 12:23 PM

Straight forward? What's that? Lol

Been keeping an eyeout for some form of 2nd hadn diffuser for mine as I am gunna have to cut the **** out of it lol to fit my v8 saloon wagon hybrid we are making lol

JonMc 01 October 2012 06:31 PM

Still looking:D
