What do you mean setup ?
Does it need mapping ?

Ian 20 June 2012 08:22 PM

on a rolling road day, your car goes on the rollers to fine out, bhp, lbft, boost, a/f, and a few other bits and bobs.

i have been looking at some rr around this was today.

anyone used this place before?

Ian 22 June 2012 02:48 PM

just got a price from above, and they wanted 45+vat each for 10+ cars, or 55+vat for less than 10 cars.

feels like on the expensive side to me, so am going to keep looking

MattyB1983 22 June 2012 11:26 PM

Why not try one of the known specialists buddy, may have to drive a bit to them but could make a day of it.

Ian 23 June 2012 06:54 AM

I would of said Zen performance, but they havent got there rr set up at there new place.

where would you recomend?

Essexdon 23 June 2012 02:49 PM

We tried to organise one in the ESC a few months ago, we did ours are Eurospec in Guildford, was a good day but could have done with more members coming, we only had 5 turn up but 15+ got their names down, seems like places are not to happy about doing them due to drop outs.

Had a chat with Paul and Richard about dyno's Ian.
First place they said was RCM, it's a bit of a drive but would be well worth it.

There is a place near them but the cooling system isn't great, the fans just aren't up to the job.

1999 uk turbo.... thunder 8 thinks im mad running about 20psi, bigger injectors and fuel pump without a remap... i am mad i agree but done it before (albeit 5 year ago on a newer and stronger engine mind!)

But a mate of mine builds big power nissans and maps them he wants to do it were just looking at which is best route to go down...

The other half of me just wants go spunk aload of money on a new engine and management!

With all due respect buddy, running that with no remap is crazy. Unless you intend/can afford to rebuild the car then stop using it or get it mapped.
Carl had his done yesterday by way of ECUtek which is your only option with your car, (unless you go with a different ECU) £550 all in.
Thrashing around in a modified car which hasn't been setup is madness, you can possibly get away with an exhaust but fitting injectors and upping the boost is a no no. You may of got 'away' with it before but that doesn't mean you will again. Is your old car still going ?

Why did you fit bigger injectors by the way ?
And how have you increased the boost, please don't tell me you've fitted a bleed valve.

dukeoffenland 26 June 2012 04:59 PM

yes i can afford it if it goes pop its just a play around / keep me entertained

i used megasquirt before but not looked into if its for scoob... or a apexi fc !

no bleed valve lol ! narr my mate done it also messed about wiht some other stuff that i have no idea what but he builds and races 600bhp nissans so i trust him, i just made the tea its not a on a standard map anyway with the paper work i got with the car (was done when pretty much new!)

fitted injectors as they was there and bored got like 4 sets ! lol , but think im gonna strip the car down soon and sell it as im getting bored

dukeoffenland 26 June 2012 05:03 PM

my old one was running ECUtek but i sold it to a chav in manchester.... he wrote it off in about 3 days,

way im modding this is trial and error, i want to have a go at mapping myself tho! just see what can be done and how
