i have an apexi fuel controller, and also the boost is fine.

however, is there much gain to be had from adjusting the ignition curve, and if so, is there an individual module that can do this.
i seem to remember seeing something a few years back, not sure if that was an apexi, and whether or not it still exists?

thanks, ian ;)

There is an ignition controller from Apexi and HKS available IIRC. Yes it probably would give you further gains, but you need datalogging or a very good knock display to set it up well.

thanks for the v.fast reply john ;)

yes it must have been the apexi i saw then. the datalogging could pose a problem for me :( ill have a look at the various knocklinks (good ones) available then.

thanks again. ian.

p.s. just going to reply to your water spray question, but as usual probably a patheticaly useless piece of info (im good at that ;)).

mine is the older s-afc, the one with the five adjustment knobs. am i correct in thinking that the ignition module looks also the same?

here you go stevie ;)

White wire on ITC = crank angle output from ITC to ECU

Yellow wire on ITC = cam angle output from ITC to ECU

Green wire on ITC = cam angle input from cam sensor to ITC

Pink wire on ITC = crank angle input from crank sensor to ITC

Black wire on ITC = ground (must be the same ground that is used to ground the ECU to the car)

Red wire on ITC = main power to the ECU unit

best leave the 800rpm setting at zero, then others about +5 degrees, with the 4000rpm at more advance?
only an idea though mate, set it how you reckon.

hope this helps :)

what settings are your s-afc? mail offline if you like mate.

I too am using the apexi fuel computer ( S-AFC generation 1 ), I have the ignition timing ( S-ITC ) computer also but cannot find wiring diagrams to get it up and running. They are fairly simple crude devices to use, i dont think datalogging is essential for it. If you hear pinking ( or see the lights on the knocklink ) then just knock back the advance back a little at the closest adjustment point. There really isnt that many adjustment points.
Perhaps a more controllable computer might require more fine adjustment where datalogging would be useful, but ive got a half good datalogger in me head, If i remember hearing it pink somewhere in the rev range, then retard it!
