I didn't know cavemen climbed trees |
Happened to me once a few years ago. Bit of a nuisance really!

Turned out ok in the end, some superficial damage to the wings, nothing a bit of sellotape couldn't fix though.
Then went upto Davidstow Airfield (no trees) and it flew really well! Landed it every time (even when the battery died mid-air). Now I want this... http://www.rcpitstop.co.uk/ekmps/sho...z4600-act3.jpg :D |
gaffa tape is your friend!! :)
|
Lol, yeh, thought Gaffa tape might have been too heavy haha

nah I always used it on my planes, keeps them together nicely :)

Whilst it's possible you could handle a low wing, higher powered model as your next step. I think it more likely you'll have more incidents with it than a high wing type. My next move would be a "sports" model with low dihedral or none, mid or shoulder wing. With a BFO motor on the front of it. Would be easier to fly than the scale jobbie and easier to fix without looking too bitzer... :) J. |
That one isn't anything special, just a Parkzone Corsair, still electric and seems pretty easy to fly and land on the sim.
Think it's a good, next step? |
I dived (quite literally) straight in with a low wing Parkzone Fokker. Cant fly it for crap. Think its going on ebay in a couple of days lol.

How much you wanting Dave? my heli has been shipped, it will be here soon and I am taking my other heli to be repaired today too.
|
Not really sure if I'm honest. I bought it a couple of years back, tried to fly it once and got nowhere. Its been sat in the spare room ever since lol. Probably let it go for £40 or £50. Not even looked to see what theyre worth. Id have to charge the battery etc to check it works still before I sold it though :)

check it and let me know :)

Took your advice and went for another "trainer" with aeilerons. Got a WOT4 foam-e. Looks very similar to the Super Cub but more powerful/manouverable.
Nothing to look at but atleast it should get me upto speed. |

Nothing to look at but at least it should get me upto speed. WOT4 has been around for ages. Guy who designed it knows his stuff and intended it for "aileron" work after initial trainer (rudder/elevator/throttle) phase. Personally, I was cash strapped and stuff cost £££s years ago, so I stayed 2 channel on elevator and aileron and built an Enya "09" powered Obelix. The version 2 I built has a slightly wider and stronger nose section. Version 1 powered in after a control horn failure on one of the ailerons. :( For example only: http://www.myhobbystore.co.uk/produc...15-obelix-plan It's a brilliantly responsive model. Turns on aileron and elevator in a flash, has a decent turn of speed yet lands slowly, almost hovers in any breeze with modest up elevator. (I remember all this and I haven't flown it in 20+ years <sigh> ). J. |
Flew my Parkzone Corsair today and took a 'inflight' movie....:D
