iTunes help - Missing Photos

Hi Guys,

I've threaded this in a number of forums and not got a lot of help at the moment, so I thought I'd try the knowledgeable ScoobyNet peeps.

My wife has got a new iphone4s. She went on holiday with the girls and took approx 100 photos.

She's returned home and gone to sync her new phone on her laptop.

However in doing so, all her old iPhone settings have been put onto her new phone.

Now I think that would mean all her new photos have been deleted. Checking on her phone all the new photos have gone.

However, on her phone within the iTunes account there are more photos listed than on her phone. Eg. 100 one the phone and 200 on the iTunes account.

At the moment the new iPhone is still connected to the iTunes, having not been disconnected.

The problem is she can not find the new photos on the computer.

Can anyone help? Where are the new photos?

I am useless at techy stuff, but my pictures from my iphone, go into a folder in My Pictures. When I click on the folder, they are all there. I get a new folder, everytime I upload more pics. Not individual, like my camera.
Sorry if that is no use to you :D

Thanks buddy, its the issue the new phone was syncs, having never been sycned before. So all the old settings were uploads and the new photos overidden.

But We're hoping because there is a difference in the numbers on the phone to the iTunes that they can be retrieved some how.

How odd. I will have a word with my daughter as she had a 3gs (which I now have) and now she has the 4s. She has had no problems at all. :)

Sorry can't help after all. She does not use itunes. Best of luck, JackClark might be able to help, he knows all there is to know about iphones :)

Right I don't how your iPhone sync'd the old setting it never does that unless you restored the phone to a older backup

The new iphone was new, never sync to this iTunes account before. As we all iPhones the first thing it does when you plug it into an itunes account it asks if you want to pair with it, my misses clicked yes without thinking, this caused the old settings, the last back up to update onto her phone, so all the apps, music, video and photos uplaoded onto her phone so both iPhone 3gs and 4s had all the same things. This has deleted everything she had on the iphone 4s, which was just the photos from her holiday.

I'd normally say that she's lost it all now, but under her phone on the iTunes more photos are listed, however none are on the phone and none can be found on the computer.

Hmm, could be they are in iCloud. Have a look on the apple website about iCloud and specifically photo stream and how to get your machine setup to access pictures in the photostream

My missus does this regularly, well after every night out she has with the girls to be honest, why she insists on syncing her phone every time she gets home at 5:30 is beyond me, it's not as though she ain't got enough to do, what with having a shower and washing her underwear n stuff !!!
