Hi
If you go to http://www.britishrally.co.uk Very helpful people on there. You will definitely find the answers you need. |
Look on the msa website and look at the PDF of the blue book 2012 then look up the type of racing u want to do then all the regs will be listed

There is a big difference between a track day car and a rally car , you need to get hold of the blue book from the RAC MSA which gives you the spec a car has to be built to , you can't just fit any cage , they need to be certified , there are various ones to choose from , from bolted in to fully welded in , Seat and harnesses need to be in date , they only have a 5 year life span , you need a plumbed in fire extinguisher that can be operated from inside and outside of the car , same with the battery cut off , you need to have a tank guard , you don't need but should also fit a sump guard.
On a turbo car you also need to fit a restrictor into the inlet of the turbo , that will need to be checked by a scrutineer and sealed so it cannot be removed , this is how they cap the power on them , on a homologated group N car car they are 33mm , you can run a 34mm one if you just going to compete on clubman events Best think you can do is join your local motor club , and pop along to any local rallies and have a chat with people running the same cars as you , there is a rally in Abingdon a week today which I'm competing on in my Clio , there are loads of Impreza's competing so come along and see for yourself , you can walk around the pits and have a look at the cars to see how they have been done Hope this helps Cheers Ian |
