new to scoobynet and this is my first post and aslo my first scooby,
the car is a genune type uk ppp, i brought the car with a "tapping" sound which has turned out to be possibly a cracked piston, anyway, the car is booked in for the next 3 weeks to have a 2.1 fully forged and blue printed engine build, cant wait to get it back and run in so i can drive it properly :)

Very very nice mate

tubbytommy 03 June 2012 10:39 AM

like the prodrive front bumper, suits the bug.

r33ryan 03 June 2012 10:57 AM

cheers for the replys, the top pc is from last weekend and the exhaust sits about 30mm out the bumper now rather than inside, im hoping for the 450bhp mark the engine im having built will easily handle 500 bhp plus, just a matter of which turbo to go for now, injectors and front mount,

Tomwrx 03 June 2012 11:03 AM

thats very nice mate,

glad to see the fecked engine has only made u get a cracking build quicker.

look forward to the end results

nice scooby mate

r33ryan 03 June 2012 11:59 AM

cheers bud, the build consits of mahle pistons (2.1). ver9 nitided crank. manley rods. arp head bolts. cosworth head gaskets. apr black race bearings. blocks blue printed and machined for the 2.1 stroker kit. heads, and valves fully stripped chemically cleaned. valves relapped into the heads and then fully rebuilt so basically a brand new engine.
ive chosen neil @ slowboy racing to do all the work for me, ive been readng good reports about neil and he is in the kbow when it come to scoobys:)

zippy! 03 June 2012 07:47 PM

nice car mate glad to see someone rebuilding rather than breaking :thumb:

r33ryan 04 June 2012 08:29 AM

cheers for the comments, when i found out the piston was low on pressure the first thing i thought was breaking it then i coukd be in the same boat boat with the next car i buy, not that many bug ppp,s plus its best part of mint with full history and 4 owners from new, judt wondered if anyone knows the car it came from the midlands area and has had the scooby plate on it a while. who ever owned it 2 owners ago fitted some cheap chinese induction kit and along with 3" decat system, didnt get the car remaped and all it does is boost spikes to 1.5bar thats the cause of the low compression
