Brake disc skimming, Good thing or Bad thing?
Does anyone know where I can get my brake disc's skimmed in the Nottingham area, they are looking a bit tired. Many thanks.

ffs dont skim discs, they are the thing that stops you from crashing, crash if you must due to being tight but the problem is it may be another innocent road user you hit.
buy some new ones. |
Thanks for advice it's not about being tight, both the option to skim and to replace disc's are about the same, it's just having time to source the parts on my car car due to having performance brakes fitted. Thanks again, and any constructive advice on brake disc slimming would be appreciated.

Discs are only designed to wear down 1mm per side , so when you get a lip on the outside edge that is 1mm or more , they need changing , you should never skim them if they go under the minimum thickness , if you do you risk the disc breaking apart.
What performance brakes do you have fitted ? as we can supply just about all discs , or if not we can make them Cheers Ian |
I ternd to use Ian's discs until the grooves are flat. Then I know they need replaced.
His stuff is top quality as well. |
