Handling and suspension?

Evening all just after some advice. I'm looking at sorting the handling/suspension out on my car but have no idea where to start I.e what's needed, what should I do/buy first, what products to buy etc? So I'm looking at all the advice I can get please as per above, what's first to buy/fit then what to do after that. Thanks in advance

Not knowing your car then I would offer this advice (assuming all standard at present):

Whiteline 22mm rear anti roll bar (set it on the middle setting)
Whiteline CDF Racing uprated anti roll bar drop links all round
Prodrive/Eibach lowering springs (Prodrive if available are best) OR for more money
BC Racing coilovers with OE type rubber top mounts and the softer springs
A DECENT steering and suspension geometry alignment (Dave Coe, Melvyn Evans Motorsport to name a few)

You could also look at anti lift kits, rear diff and carrier lock down kits and loads more but the above will give you a very good car. :)

Yep, what ty said, he has a suspension/stiffness fetish and really does know his bannans when it comes to a hard spring!

I run KYB AGX Adjustable shocks, the red P1 Eibachs, uprated rear drop links, Whiteline rear heavy duty ARB mounts with a Whiteline ARB.

Set on 2 F and 4 R the suspension is excellent for everyday driving and the ride is not as harsh as the OE STI Spring/shock set up. When they are wound down to 4 F and 8 R then things get pretty serious and it's excellent for the more spirited stuff.

The main thing to consider once its done is a good geometry set up. Think of it like glasses, they may look got but unless the prescription is right then your likely to bump into stuff. A few places have been mentioned but that extra 45 minutes to Powerstation in Tewksbury may be worth it.

I almost know what I am talking about then, and there's nothing wrong with a firm ride. :D

Ian, I have to be fair and say that both Dave Coe (ok he hasn't got the greatest reputation on here) and Melvyn Evans both did an excellent job of setting up the geometry for me on my Hawkeye and Blobeye respectively.

I can't comment on Powerstation but they do have a good reputation for geometry setup, there is also a very good company in Newport that I believe Simon and Glenn have had their cars aligned there. :)

Thanks for the info so far, my car is a classic turbo 2000. Where is the best place to buy all this stuff from?

Cannon Foddders list of kit above is definitely a good one to go with, I would recommend in addition the Whiteline Roll Centre Adjustment kit if you're lowering the car.

As a Whiteline Performance Centre we're able to offer 15% off Whiteline RRP's across their range and we're also an Official Eibach dealer, not to mention Tein, BC, Ohlins, KW, Intrax, Nitron...
