2004 JDM STI 453bhp Reading

http://i247.photobucket.com/albums/g...10298Large.jpg

OK well it is time for me to sell my 2004 JDM STI 453bhp impreza. Not a decision I wanted to make, but a house has taken priority. I was hoping to own this for longer, but there you go.

I have owned this since January this year and it has previously been owned by 2 members from the scoobynet forum I bought it from, so a known history. I have been upgrading it from its already high spec, as I fully intended to get more use out of it. I am an impreza enthusiast and have owned others previously.

2004 77,000miles (increasing, used daily), 3 owners, fsh (all performed by garage), jdm in excellent condition in out and mechanically. Taxed and MOTd till Jan 2013. Lots of old MOTs.

Advertised elsewhere for £8000.

Spec is below, All the work has been done in the past 18 months and ALL receipts to prove. I bought it with the following spec, ALL of which has been professionally fitted:

2.0 litre jdm engine with factory forged pistons, etc.

brembos all round with pagid rear pads ds2500 fronts.
carbon wing mirrors
towing eye (not fitted)
200 cell sports cat mot freindly
equal length headers and up pipe all wrapped .
stepper boost gauge
tracker, anti high jack, cat 1 alarm
18 way bc coilovers adj suspension with adj extenders just set up bye roger clark
front splitter (not fitted)
engine map done at rcm by zen (Jan).

Since ownership I have continued the high spec:

TiC USRE (FULL Poly kit composing of poly subframe outrigger bushings, poly rear diff mounts, )
TiC poly xmember bushings (solid bush fitted between gearbox mount and chassis)
kartboy 6mt poly bushing combo (ALL shifter bushings replaced, very precise and solid gear changes)
TiC rear trailing arm rear poly bushes
TiC front trailing arm poly bushes
poly steering rack bushes

Alpine SPG-10C2 - 4" Coaxial Rear Speakers

SUBARU IMPREZA STi KEY BLANK

Here is a link to my photobucket account where I keep all of my pictures:

Feel free to request more pictures. I viewed many cars all over the UK before I bought this one and know how annoying it can be turning up and the car is not as expected.

I have also added the dipol SACC3393 security bolt. This locks the gearbox in reverse and is highly effective at preventing theft.

How it drives:
This car is EXTREMELY fast. Compared to my old impreza type R with ~360 bhp, this is in a completely different league. It feels as fast as my old GSXR-1000.
It has a lot of poly bushes fitted which give superb feedback, but has the knock on effect that it is a harsh ride.
The brakes are flawless to match the cars performance. It will have you hard pressed on the seatbelt as it stops on its nose, from any speed.
Of all the cars I have owned, this is the most planted of in the corners. The combination of the suspension mods, coilovers, poly bushes and rigid transmission mean that it can corner exceptionally well.

Bad points:
Tiny chip in windscreen. Passed MOT with it. Could easily be filled by autoglass (low priority so I didn't get around to it)
Stone rash on front of bumper. This is a road going car, so it is inevitable.
Rear tyres near limit.

95% of the driving this has seen since I have owned it has been on my daily 30 minute commute. It has always been allowed to reach temperature for a reasonable amount of time and has always been allowed to cool properly on the "wind down" couple of miles prior to reaching destination.
That might seem a bit of a waste, but I would rather be sat in this than a peugeot 106 on the commute. I still get the exhaust note, acceleration and feel of driving it opposed to a cheap commute car.

Here are some more pictures:

I have every receipt for every mod done in the past 18 months. They exceed £12,000 in this timeframe.

This car needs nothing and is ready to be enjoyed. Would make a superb track car, or an equally fun road car.
Can be viewed evenings and weekends in Reading.

Good luck with the sale mate, Nice car.

I just got rid of my UK version with similar spec and power. Miss it already :(

JamesWalker 24 May 2012 06:37 PM

I will be replacing it with a sensible car - old bmw estate or something. I will miss it but all for a good cause - first house! Cant have it all...

white noise 24 May 2012 07:02 PM

How about a white sti wagon instead of a bmw estate, compromise both ways :norty:

BIG FUD 24 May 2012 08:04 PM

My old car 100% a dream to own and drive loads of money spent on this one :)

stuart148 24 May 2012 09:58 PM

nice car mate fancy a deal on my 2005 bmw x5

JamesWalker 25 May 2012 08:22 AM

Sorry X5 will be a bit too expensive for me to run. Thanks for the offer. Really only interested in an old BMW estate.

JamesWalker 28 May 2012 08:36 AM

Who do I speak to regarding modifying the title? Thanks

Cracking looking car there mate, this is the exact reason I sold my first Scoob, never regretted it though.

JamesWalker 29 May 2012 01:15 PM

Price added (and dropped) to advert rather than title. I have only had offers, so it was obviously optimistically priced!

JamesWalker 31 May 2012 11:33 AM

Added a bit of a description to how the car drives; what the new owner can expect. Also added bad points as per PM request.

Surprised noone has wanted to view this yet. It has incredible performance/spec, is reasonably priced and drives extremely well. Anyone after a fast JDM has to look no further. There was huge interest in it at the start of the year and the car has only been improved upon since (not that it needed it tbh)

B0DSKI 31 May 2012 11:51 AM

Sign of the times James. I had to drop mine to £7500 to get it sold. Mine had Perrin FMIC MD321T BC Coilovers Perrin ARBs Speedline Turini's etc etc.

JamesWalker 31 May 2012 01:10 PM

Could get more if I split it! Not that I will, so please dont ask anyone :p

Terminator X 31 May 2012 01:19 PM

Just keep at it James, £8xxx is nothing when you consider the spec. A standard car would need mental money thrown at it to get 450hp + all the other mods you need when the car is so fast ...

TX.

JamesWalker 31 May 2012 01:29 PM

Well exactly. I dont NEED to sell it, so if it doesnt fetch what I want for it (which is a perfectly reasonable amount, not like im over-advertising it) then I will keep it.

Would make life a bit easier for the new house if I sold it, but I would be happier if I kept it!

B0DSKI 31 May 2012 01:45 PM

Tell you what mate. You WILL miss it once it's gone. I'm only 3 weeks into owning my car and already I'm missing the shove it the back my old Scooby gave me.

Everybody said you'd be back one day in another and they way I'm thinking it'll be sooner rather than later lol

JamesWalker 31 May 2012 01:52 PM

You are probably right. I had less than a year between owning the type R and then this, so its obviously an itch that needs to be scratched. What did you replace it with? A boring car like i'm after?

Terminator X 31 May 2012 02:31 PM

Bodski owns the Type R as per his avatar :thumb:

At the moment ;)

CREWJ 31 May 2012 07:01 PM

That's very nice mate, GLWTS :thumb:

Just one question, were those wheels black as standard or have they been powder coated or spray painted?

KAS35RSTI 31 May 2012 07:03 PM

I sold my JDM STi 05 widetrack with 35k for less than that. Nice car with a nice spec but its at the top end of the market.

JamesWalker 31 May 2012 07:14 PM

The wheels were originally gold and have been re-done in black by whatever means.

Only 3 owners though! previous proper owner had it 4 years. then fud had it for 2 weeks and i have had it since jan.

The mods on this car limit the lowest price that it can be sold for, before people start realising that it can be bought and broken for a profit.

I like the casual car chat of this thread (no sarcasm). It confirms that I am not the only person with a short attention span :)
