front mount intercooler

im looking to buy a front mount for my 96` classic STI,ive seen japspeeds and harveys coolers, which one is best/decent?
im also wondering what sort of power increase will i get? the cars got standard turbo, uprated fuel pump, straight through system, apexi induction, apexi afc and commander mapped by JGM.
thanks,Andy

Have you considered just going for a later model top mount intercooler? That'll be more than capable of optimising your current spec list

ive thought about it but I just like front mounts, its also for reliability as to keep the intake temperatures down as the cars getting on abit and wanted abit more power out the engine if possible

If it's just a front mount your fitting then having map tweaked you won't see alot of bhp but it will run cooler and should be bit safer giving you peace of mind, I recently fitted one and after a tweak by jgm I gained about 16bhp, mine didn't drive very nice after fitting and was very laggy until I had it tweaked.

I'd personally go with Harvey due to the excellent reports he gets on here and his extensive testing of anything he sells. He tests everything on his own cars which is good enough for me should I need parts :D

Another vote for Harvey.

But do be aware that fitting an FMIC WITHOUT having the map tweaked can lead to engine failure.
