5 speed or 6 speed?
Afternoon all
I have a dilemma, found the car i want, in the colour and spec i want with everything i want on it but its the 5 spd not a 6 spd gearbox. Currently i have a 6 speed car but am i just being a tart by wanting a 6 speed car?. Is it really much more beneficial?. To be honest i dont do loads of motorway mileage nowdays so rarely get out of 4th/5th gear now. Incidentally its a saab 9-3 but not that should matter. Just interested in peoples opinions. ask here http://www.saabscene.com/forum/index.php Manual or auto, i have a 5sp auto 9-3 Aero Petrol Saab diesels do not like short journeys! |
Ta, will have a look. how come they dont like short journeys?. basically a vauxhall engine isnt it surely it wont mind them
|
Depends which engine, some are FIAT, some GM but both have EGR problems with sooting up doing short journeys. Have a look on the site the 9-3 2003-2009 is littered with diesel sooting problems.

Check the cambelt has been done if at 60k or 5 years, the water pump should be done at the same time. |
WTF...!
Have I just logged on to Saabynet by mistake ...? ;) |
I had a 9-3 Aero for four years, that had the six speed, bit of a notchy, clunky thing really, not sure if the 5 speed is better but it cant be much worse.
