Got my 100mb upgrade
:D checked today and it's all go
apart from needing a super hub as my wnr2000 from virgin wont handle it as it's not gigabit. but when the super hub comes , i'll still use my netgear for the wireless:thumb: |
Wow.
|
I do have some bad news for you, the superhubs are sh!t
Dropping connection, random reboots, the wireless range isn't great either. At one point I was almost considering disabling it's wireless and connecting the thing via Ethernet into my own router. Lee |

If you do decide to use the superhub at some point, there are guides online to what settings are best to make it as stable as possible |
Cheers I'll look into it, had to sort my dads earlier the wifi just didnt want to work, changed the channel manually and all was back to normal

What's the upload speed on 100mb, is it still 5mb? I should be getting mine in July. Virgin have recently updated their traffic management policy though.
|
Still waiting for my upgrade to 20mb. Should be July/ August.
|
My 10mb has gone to 20mb -- then i find out, from the Vm site, that their minimum speed is now 30mb !!! (for new customers......) :(

http://www.speedtest.net/result/1952295494.png Ping is not great... Any reason? Download is awesome though!! Lol |
Upload is normally 5mb, the ping was probable affected by me downloading a install file at the same time.
Been getting stuff from newsgroups at 108mb today :D I normally get 12ms ping |

download speed is less important, you'll soon run out of space to save things. it's the upload speed that you need to be high so you can stream things from home to remote locations like work etc...
BT 80MB download and 20MB upload is what you want :) |
ok.. that just takes the piss... lol
I live so far out in the sticks, we run 2 x adsl 8000's, each no more than 2.8mbit. Line length is about 6km. We then bond them so get about 5.4mbit ish after overheads etc. Done everything bar solder the bt lines direct to the adsl modem board, to get a good signal. lol. Richie. |

Nice one Virgin
http://www.speedtest.net/result/1956603915.png What's everyone paying? Mine is £18 a month Internet Only, they're about to get a call. |
It's actually cheaper if you take their phone line :lol1:
I pay £53 for TiVo L ,phone M and what was 50mb |
Seriously? I don't mind having a telephone line I'll never use if it's cheaper.
