Got my 100mb upgrade

:D checked today and it's all go

apart from needing a super hub as my wnr2000 from virgin wont handle it as it's not gigabit.

but when the super hub comes , i'll still use my netgear for the wireless:thumb:

ScoobySteve69 12 May 2012 12:20 AM

Wow.

scouser321 12 May 2012 12:31 AM

I do have some bad news for you, the superhubs are sh!t

Dropping connection, random reboots, the wireless range isn't great either.

At one point I was almost considering disabling it's wireless and connecting the thing via Ethernet into my own router.

Lol, was reading it on my iPhone, missed your last sentence.

If you do decide to use the superhub at some point, there are guides online to what settings are best to make it as stable as possible

Ant 12 May 2012 01:02 AM

Cheers I'll look into it, had to sort my dads earlier the wifi just didnt want to work, changed the channel manually and all was back to normal

I love thrashing over my speedtest results when it says I'm faster than 99% of the UK! :lol1: About ****ing time!!

chrisowe 12 May 2012 08:00 PM

What's the upload speed on 100mb, is it still 5mb? I should be getting mine in July. Virgin have recently updated their traffic management policy though.

Jamescsti 12 May 2012 08:01 PM

Still waiting for my upgrade to 20mb. Should be July/ August.

albob 12 May 2012 10:39 PM

My 10mb has gone to 20mb -- then i find out, from the Vm site, that their minimum speed is now 30mb !!! (for new customers......) :(

have to disagree there. mine has been faultless from the day and hour it was installed. Do you have the latest R30 firmware?

depends on whether your upload speed has been upgraded. it should be 100/10. traffic is managed for torrents/newsgroups only. just schedule your downloads for after 11pm

Upload is weak mate.... Thought you would get much more than that?

Ping is not great... Any reason?

Download is awesome though!! Lol

Ant 15 May 2012 07:03 PM

Upload is normally 5mb, the ping was probable affected by me downloading a install file at the same time.

Been getting stuff from newsgroups at 108mb today :D

I normally get 12ms ping

Oh dear! what a shame, tissues?

Max I can get is 4.5mb DSL !

download speed is less important, you'll soon run out of space to save things. it's the upload speed that you need to be high so you can stream things from home to remote locations like work etc...

BT 80MB download and 20MB upload is what you want :)

ramdor 17 May 2012 03:06 AM

ok.. that just takes the piss... lol

I live so far out in the sticks, we run 2 x adsl 8000's, each no more than 2.8mbit. Line length is about 6km. We then bond them so get about 5.4mbit ish after overheads etc.

Done everything bar solder the bt lines direct to the adsl modem board, to get a good signal. lol.

Richie.

I don't need to upload to work as its nothing I do , 5mb upload will do me fine for uploading the odd picture

What's everyone paying? Mine is £18 a month Internet Only, they're about to get a call.

Ant 17 May 2012 06:05 PM

It's actually cheaper if you take their phone line :lol1:

I pay £53 for TiVo L ,phone M and what was 50mb

JackClark 17 May 2012 08:56 PM

Seriously? I don't mind having a telephone line I'll never use if it's cheaper.
