Google Chrome speed

Guys

I know that SN is being subjected to DOS attacks.
But, during those time when its struggling to load, if I open internet explorer instead and paste the link from chrome into it, the page appears almost instantly, while chrome is still trying to load it?

CREWJ 08 May 2012 02:39 PM

I use chrome and haven't seen any problems.

stualex 08 May 2012 02:42 PM

I use chrome on all my PC's and laptops and never had any issues. Runs google maps so much quicker too!

Luminous 08 May 2012 02:45 PM

I've had lots of issues accessing the site and use IE, Firefox and Chrome.

If you are seeing the site before "its loaded" then your browser is loading its cache while its waiting to update.

urban 08 May 2012 02:58 PM

OK, that makes sense I guess

But, is it just co-incidence that IE can display the page that Chrome is having issues with

Slightly off-topic but I wouldn't touch Chrome with a bargepole, if you remotely value your privacy.

Wife uses chrome and keeps having problems.
Chrome is not something I want to go near.

Every time you open a new tab in chrome it grabs a huge chunk of memory.

Also, as mentioned above if you have a google account (gmail etc) google can track your every move. It's quite funny how many people are unaware of the collusion layer of the internet...

I find chrome to be very good, especially for movie streaming. Safari is a total pile of ****e though. If i open multiple tabs on scoobynet it goes extremely slow

Didn't notice that before - it was taking 72Mb just to open a new tab!

Installed firefox now and will see how that goes.
