Chaps,

I wondered if any of you have an idea where I might find mesh to use in customising my grille. I’ve tried the usual B&Q and Homebase, but they just seem to have the common-or-garden galvanised fencing stuff.

Halfords etc stock the Folia-Tec mesh, but it seems a bit expensive in comparison with the prices in Homebase for what is essentially the same stuff. Plus I'd probably make an ar5e of it first time around anyway http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

Any suggestions as to where I might find more variety of mesh are most welcome.

As are any hints or tips for actually fitting the mesh when I find some that suits.

Gza

Having one custom made by the company that makes 'em for JAG XJR's and Aston Martins http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif. Will be top quality bit of kit.

I will be posting a picture next week (hopefully) once fitted.

Gonna be worth waiting for.

All the info is here:-

Gza,

If you are intent on making a grill in your shed then maybe this will help. When I worked in the paper industry, we used woven wire mesh manufactured and supplied by United Wire in Edingbrough (0131 552 6241). They do different grades in just about any metal incl. ssteel + nickel alloy. Have a look at

Hi, went to Larkspeed to price some up - £29.95 for just enough to fill the grill, though it was a rip off so went to garden centre and got a sheet of 4x2ft for £2.99, plenty of excess if i make a balls of it

HI

As sparkplug says you can get it at B&Q but I think that you will have to go to a B&Q Superstore...thats where I got mine.

You can attach it to the back of the frame with blobs of filler.

I will email you some pics and tips from when I did mine.

For what it's worth i've had the aluminium mesh from B&Q fitted on my car for well over a year with no probs, oxidisation etc.
looks the same now as when it was new.
