jay-sti 01 May 2012 08:12 PM

I was looking for an 05 sti for around 4 monthsand just couldnt find a decent one , because of that i settled on a low mileage (40k) 2003 sti instead , doesnt seem too many 05 sti"s for sale and when a decent one come up people want top money

RobsyUK 01 May 2012 08:18 PM

Nope has to be Sti.... not anting anything else.. could consider a W1.

Might not even get one yet... just it's my 30th soon and I think the wife let something slip ;)

So I'm looking early.

I held out for around 3 months looking around before i got mine. looked all over and ended up getting mine from local scooby garage to me. complete luck and chance. Not many around from my experience. Well worth the wait.

karl.hughes 01 May 2012 09:42 PM

I picked up a crystal grey one two weeks ago, 37k full history, ppp, ppf7's, very good car I paid £8100.
You are right though very few low mileage good 05's about.

sovietspybob 01 May 2012 09:42 PM

I just fell across mine, was the exactly what i wanted but they're not easy to come by really. Just have to bide your time.

Martyn19 01 May 2012 09:48 PM

I assume his looking for my2005 in particular. Wide track, dccd, sti. And it's a blob not hawk as the tax bracket changes in 2006 and before 2005 they weren't wide track. :thumb:

Wide track blobs were actually made available to purchase in the latter part of 2004 and were on a '54' reg plate.

I know, cos I've got one!

Osimabu 02 May 2012 06:34 AM

Can I be extreamly fussy and say I want blue.. Lol than,s for the links though... Image how disappointed I'll be on my birthday when she says... Here's yur present and it's slippers!

Jelly 02 May 2012 07:49 AM

It's the car everybody is looking for. I had a simalar requirement although i was entertaining the WR1's. I was talking to a trader about one. In my opinion I got messed around about. Was annoyed and looked on pistonheads on my way home and spotted one that had been on there for a couple of hours. I Immiediatly phoned and went to see it. While on the test drive somebody phoned to make their offer. I paid the asking price, higher than the usual prices. It is in good nik and had a few mods I liked. When I collected it he said he had a few calls including one from Germany saying he was going to come and collect it. It appears they are wanted in Europe as well.

L.J.F 02 May 2012 08:52 AM

9 out of 10 people who buy a car with DCcd never touch the bloody button anyway due to either Fear of pranging it or because they don't understand how to use it or get the chance to PROPERLY:D

Herbie. 02 May 2012 10:47 AM

Im in the same boat, looking for a 2005 STi with DCCD and PPP with lowish miles, perferably in blue.

This one ticks all the right boxes but the price is far too high..

Rbon91 02 May 2012 11:03 AM

I picked up 2005 wide arch sti with 27k on clock in feb took 5monyths to find a good one tho. There not many out there and there's less good ones. Good person to speak to is Sam at sjperformance in coventry he will find you a good one

chet123 02 May 2012 11:33 AM

The last of the blobs with widetrack, dccd are defo hard to find. I've had mine for 2 yrs and at the time of looking there werent many around then either. I guess with most cars there are plus and minuses and personal preference

RobsyUK - I could be tempted to sell mines, but its black with gold alloys -04/05 facelift model

Rbon91 02 May 2012 11:39 AM

I wanted blue one aswel and picked mine up as standarded aswell which even harder to find.. Was very lucky soon as saw it put deposit down straight away without even going to look at the car. Was only on sale a day the dealer said and had 12viewing for the day I picked it up so glad I put deposit down on it.. It's fun in the wet with the dccd

I bought my 06 Blob STI at Christmas, presume not too many knocking around. Downside- High Tax Bracket = Ouch :brickwall:cry:

speedking 02 May 2012 01:05 PM

I think sales were low because the hatch was coming and the run out saloons were being sold as special editions like the Spec D. Therefore few on the second hand market.
