Classic Morette Replacement Lamp Issue

Hi to all.Having fitted a pair of Morette Replacement Hella inner headlamps today i now find they will not light up at all.Original H2 lamps work but these H3 type dont. The H2 has two connections to the bulb these replacements have 1 to bulb and 1 to lamp body.Tried wiring like originals using the 2 wires but no joy? Many thanks

This has to be a simple problem, if the others worked, so WILL these.

First off, remove a bulb and, with the help of a short length of cable, splash it across the battery terminals, +ve to the long lead, -ve touching the base.

If it lights up, move to the lamps.

Check with a multimeter or circuit tester that each lamp STILL has a live feed when main beam is selected. Check that the relay clicks, and that the fuse on/before the relay hasn't blown.

Then check that the earth wire from the lamp body is still connected to earth.

If and when all is OK, they should work as normal.

My bet would be the fuse, then the relay.

Thank You for your help Alcazar
Fault was found to be the inner lamp earths, basically they were never going to work.Having now drilled/earthed elsewhere all good.I just took for granted being brand new Hellas the build quality would be there, alas not.Again many thanks

There were no earthing points anywhere on the lamp units?
There is usually at LEAST a male spade on the outer rim, or outer bulb holder rim, so you can put a wire from it to earth?
