scott181 22 April 2012 11:24 PM

Aplan or sky mate

Try the insurance section and you will get some leads as to who to try.

I'm with Gary M at Kieth Michaels and he is :thumb:. He is very popular on here and busy been with them for 3 going on 4 years and have nothing but good stuff to say about him. Just make sure you speak to him as he is the scooby specialist.

you want to try onequote direct i have 11 years no claims my insurance company wanted just over 1000 pounds one quote direct are doing it for 331 pounds what a difference and i have a 1996 wrx import, thats the best price around there number is 0844 561 4603 dont bother with insurance on scoobynet as they want loads of money, ive tried most of them and not found a good deal :)

scott181 23 April 2012 10:03 AM

Try fluxdirtect

jap craig 23 April 2012 10:31 AM

It usually goes by the post code you live in with insurance companies, so if there is a high auto crime rate in that area its always more. I use admril for my classic turbo and pay about £850 with 2 years ncb and im 26.

scott181 23 April 2012 10:39 AM

I'm paying 889 that's with 5years Ncb but I have 6 point I'm 28 didn't think that's to bad really

Tried the compare sites?

1600 for a WRX is just stupid

bingo, its heavily influenced by postcode. am 32, i was on admiral last month i was quoted £1200 for a renewal on my rb5, thats with 6 years ncb. did fake quotes and prices went tumbling, theres a link somwhere with "high risk" postcodes..

i of course told them where to shove it and went with keith michaels :)

edit: to the OP, what happens to your quotes if you say you're not a driving instructor?

Welshie 23 April 2012 12:13 PM

Try keith michaels, very competitive, only paying 575

Who's that with, mate? I've got an STI to insure when I hit 21! That's a really good price.

It's with Admiral and i have my parents as named drivers. That alone knocked about £400 off.

wrxolly 24 April 2012 06:43 PM

iam 25 2 years cant get any cheaper than 1500

matt.reay 24 April 2012 07:36 PM

I'm 30yo - 0 points - 6yr NCD

Just got my first Scooby, an Import WRX Type RA (previously had a 400hp FD3)

I was struggling for a quote BUT I took the advice of the seller of the car and tried Aviva, came out at 451 online (490 with protected NCD)... Interestingly Aviva on the phone were 636!!!

The specialists couldn't top 1013 between them...

Needless to say I'm with Aviva :)

Try admiral. Getting mine come renewal for £730 with my exhaust declaired on my 05 wrx.

Will be 24 two days after i renew it with 6 years no claims

Thanks for that. Admiral have been the best in the 'Fantasy' comparison quotes I've been doing. Did you phone them directly? Might have to do that when the time comes.
