Shell V-Power or Tesco 99.

GREGGYG 22 April 2012 09:05 PM

Tesco 99 Momentum or Shell V-Power

Nothing else.

+1

anything else is poop!

A tin of octane booster on top wouldn't hurt either. Bare in mind that Jap fuel (which the ECU will be mapped to if not re-mapped here) is much more potent than our fuel.

wrxolly 22 April 2012 09:10 PM

+1 wheres best for that?

myblackwrx 22 April 2012 10:42 PM

Wouldn't bother with octane booster as Tescos Momentum or V power is sufficent imo

It is for uk cars but not for jdm cars that have not been remapped for 99 ron. I think jap fuel is 101-102ron.

Even our most potent fuel is still 2 or 3 Ron lower than the Japs juice.

scatty 22 April 2012 10:54 PM

just put vpower or tescos momentum and you will be fine and dandy...

Not when his car was made though.

SUL (tesco or vpower) is fine

Shaks-STI 23 April 2012 10:42 AM

Use Tesco momentum or Vpower, call one of the mappers to mapp your car to UK fuel that would the best way forward IMO then you dont have anything to worry about.

Would definitely stick octane booster in. You've only to get a bad batch of fuel or give the car stick for that little bit too long for things to go awry. Millers octane booster is what I used.:thumb:

This. Tony Burns or GC8 will confirm that jap fuel was upped to about 100ron in circa 1997 so on previous models, 99Ron will be fine :)

wrxolly 23 April 2012 12:41 PM

thats something il have to check, iam not sure if the car has been re-mapped or not, like you say i dont want to do any damage,

Super unleaded (SUL) is not 99ron. The uk standard is 97ron. V-power and momentum are not classed as SUL.
