Well, the sad looking (scratched glass) scooby went in for the second time now due to the awful looking scratches on the o/s and n/s fronts.

I got it back today, superb...shiny new windows :)

I have had long boring conversations with the Subaru dealer on this, most of which involved the cause of the problem.

My main concern (this is 2nd time), was that they change the "pads" inside the door as I was obviously concerned that they were contaminated.

Anyway, I have to change my view (eat humble pie?), on Springpark Motors West Wickham...thanks for a good service.

Is this a common problem on Scoobs, mine have been like it since I brought it. Would I be able to get new windows (front & back)under my warranty? I've still got 5months to run on it.

Pele, you should be able to get them changed if you have a Subaru warranty.

It is a known problem, but possibly not a common one.

There are plenty of threads on this but long story short, there are small felt pads in the door which the window glass runs on.

When they get grit on them it can scratch the glass...poor show me thinks.
