Hi,

I work for a Renault Parts Dept.

Main thing to look out for on these are the electrics !

Any lights/wiper or body electric faults could be the UCH unit which is around £300 with the programming.

Check for running faults / flat spots - can be a few things either throttle peddle potentiometer (£50 ish), the loom that runs across top of engine can crack & corrode (£136+vat) or the throttle body (£260ish +)

Mechanically pretty ok just common wear & tear stuff like track rod ends, whl brgs & suspension top mounts.

Hope haven't put you off as the 1.2 16v are crackin little cars - apart from electrics !

Hope helps,

As above, electrics. I've had a few Clio Sports, nice cars but most are riddled with electrical faults. My old Clio spent 3 months in a specialist Renault garage and it still wasn't fixed properly. I ended up loosing thousands and selling it as repairs.

The common with the Clios is the electrical warning light causing the car to go into limp mode intermittantly.
As a fellow Scoobynetter I'd say look for something else, if thats not an option be very careful and ensure a long test drive!
