It's a pretty awful propaganda exercise just getting into gear. Just as the Chinese swept Beijing 'clean' of the homeless we sweep away adverts on London busses which might indicate we do not live in a tolerate utopia of diversity.

Jesus christ what world do you live in? People in other countries earm less than people in western europe this is how the world works.

The money the workers are getting is not bad when compared to the living costs in Indonesia.

We have relatives in Cebu phillipines
McDonald's pay £2.30 a day and graduates work there for a job
I have comeacross people who fish for a living and get 70p which gives them enough rice for a day
A police man gets £3 a day and only the highest graduates do that job l
Many work in sweat shops to survive
There is plenty of people desperate to work In these sort of places to survive and feed their family's and it's the same across Asia and india and china whole parts of Africa haven't reached Asians standards of living with electricity
I Met up with a man who we fetched over to uk to lecture on Fairtrade fortnight who worked 7 days a week 6-6 for less then £300 a year and he was well paid

That's life ,just be pleased what we all have in the western world and at least sweat shops create employment for people overseas

We are led by the consumer who wants to pay as little as possible for our products and the world has to,provide it at this price and in doing so people are employed ,yes in terrible conditions but they can keep their family in food to survive and just hope there is a chance their many children might get educated for a better lifestyle so they can support their parents when they get older

yes wages are less in poorer countries but that does not mean people should suffer physical abuse in their workplace. Or be forced to work to the point of collapse from exhaustion.
Being slapped in the face by your boss is not acceptable in any country.

What I posted is facts and that is life over many third world countries
Lets face it ,it will never change due to lack of laws and human rights that we have in the western world
They don't recognise unions or human decency and if one factory closed down another ten would open and if one Asian country banned working conditions like that manufacturers would just find another city in another country to supply the goods
That is the way of life over there it's a shame and hell for the workers who work to survive and cater for their family's and culture but it won't change And for every worker that would quit there is many to take his / her place so they can atempt to survive
It's not bollocks just life I'm afraid so let's just be glad of the lifestyle we have in the western world and spare a thought for the poor workers when we buy the products

remember the Cockle pickers left to drown in Morecambe Bay, and I am pretty sure the wokers picking frult and veg in the frozen wastes of East Anglia under the watchful eye of Gangmasters would not agree its all milk and honey here

and increasing Globalisation will inevitably lower employment standards in the UK

Too many do gooders about, I indirectly employ people in Indonesia and even though some people in the UK think its awful that they get paid so little, many of these people on low wages are extremly happy with there life. I almost gurantee everyone who works at that factory has a mobile phone and everyone of them under 30 will be on facebook and twitter, most of them will own a motorbike and most of them will have some sort of gold jewelary so none of them are what i would call properly poor.

Yes over there it is a living wage
We used a joiner and builder and paid them £1.50 a day and a labourer £1 a day and I got a Couple of lads to paint the house for £2 for a long day and these guys were a lot happy then many people I know in this country
Especially when we gave them a crate of San Miguel for finishing early
Many People over there have nothing but are happy with the simple things in life although the difference between rich and poor will never get closer
At the end of the day it's a living wage just like the £300 odd wage you need to survive in this country although over there if you don't work there is no benefits it's work and survive or go hungry

I don't need any other reason to avoid the olympics than that it's taking place in London and if any of the cash or decent effects make their way to Scunny I'll eat my hat.

Plus we northeners still have to pay for it.

Thankfully not much disruption here, just a bit of kissball. China, USA, Russia will probably dominate as always, so no point in watching. Booked my hols during the dates, cheaper and more fun.
