Reverse inlet manifold
Hi guys is there a guide to reverse fit my inlet manifold cheers james

It's not worth it James... Apart for the look

i want to use a different intercooler and would make it much easier to plum in cheers

and its got to reduce lag hasnt it ?

I did my GC8 years ago and when the manifold was spun the throttle body hit the bonnet when closed. I left it the right way round but got the throttle body welded into the front and plated the hole in the rear where it was. Worked a treat.

Just in the process of doing mine now, bit of a job to do really

i dont mind if it takes bit of time just want to know the best way to do it really as it must reduce lage

It is worth it though. Gives you more space at the rear, simplifies the run of the boost pipes and helps cut down on lag... well a little maybe |
Engine is out and rotating turbo so thought might as well do it

lag mens your in wrong gear imo i adjust my gear to suit the driving style, and that means no/minimal lag. i have noticed those that moan about lag, are older, and want the throttle response of and n/a and an auto box to go with it lol :norty: mines a api built 2.1 with a rotated gt35r billet, and all along my build guys mentioned it could well be laggy, at 70mph in 6th gear then foot down, yes it certainly isbut why would i do that? 2nd,3rd,4th gear when accelerating, its simply not got any lag. FWIW my manifold is reversed also, big job, and sure a bits been welded onto the manifold to point the t/b slightly downward. and i also ran a coil pack with ht leads on it - which were only able to be fitted with thinner cosworth heat spacers ive seen set ups running newage coil packs and relocated power steering resevoir to give clearance under inlet for a pipe to a top fed i/c which ive seen a lot of pictures of, then an i/c outlet at top straight to t/b. this is probably shortest route and looks around 3-4 foot in total pipework. ata aguess ifyour minted just buy the cosworth flipped one, its dear, but looks sweet as - think banny? or someone has one - it looks fecking awsome. bear in mind mine is a road car, hence my veiw on lag, if its a racer then the extra 100'ths of a second may well be relevant |
I undrstand about rong gear but all i want is a guide on how to as reducing pipe lenghth will reduce lag

sure if you look in projects theres a few good examples mate
maybe not exact guides as i think a lot is trial and error - and minor differences in years/specs can alter things but worth a look certainly mate |
