Low battery,chirping.

The guy at local garrage tested my battery and altho voltmeter says 13.86 volts when running its only got 180 amps, and it should be around 560.he put it on a charge for 8 hours but it only had 240 after that.he said its knackered really but i put it back on and it seems ok starts well and all.is it just gonna die on or will it be a graduall thing ? Im driving to devon next week and dont want to get stuck.:thumb:

Gradual, I have the same but it'd be worth changing sooner rather than later. I found the cold weather added to the starting issues.

Nice one mate, would low battery affect anything else as in performance wise ?i have noticed now and then i get a flashing ecu light which indicates that one of the sensors are not in range yet after starting,no code stored and quickly stops flashing, lasts about ten seconds. Could it be the battery causing this as only been doing it lately.thanks.

I'm not sure, but I suppose if you have a duff battery then all the voltages to lambda sensors and all the other monitored parameters might not be dead on giving dodgy returns.

Yea you could be right bud,i have bit the bullet and got a halfords one with a 4 year warranty £95. But with trade card it was £65 so not bad really.thanks for your info mate, carl.

Let me know how you go with the error codes mate.

Didnt store any codes mate just flashing ecu light then stopped.
