2 piece discs and bells advice

my cars a 2007 hawkeye wrx with a few mods running 355bhp and front brembos.

i was possibly looking for new discs and spotted these on ian godneys site.
ive used his normal discs a few yrs ago and liked them but does anyone have any feedback on these 2 piece one he has.

how do these compare to performance friction 2 piece set up

http://www.godspeedbrakes.co.uk/~god...?id_product=28

any info advice would be great

totally different products in all fairness...............

the PF is a pukka race spec floating rotor / bell assembly that IMO are probably the 'best', but they do come at a price...........to balance the initial cost they will commonly perform for over 20K miles..........

I have the Godspeed 2 piece discs on my sti and have been impressed with them and they are lasting well. My last discs were budget ones and they lasted the same life as the pads, these are not worn at all with no lip and the pads are below half on wear. Had no warping issues either, performance friction are probably a lot better but are more than double the price so depends what you want really

Tomwrx 06 April 2012 11:01 AM

so the PF would prob be over kill for a daily driver then.yes i like to give some and do some 1/4 mile sessions but i dont take it on a race track as i dont trust others.

daz what sort of mileage have you done on them bud and what pads you running on them.

i had the normal sti discs that ian does and got them with the fast road pads but they were shocking.after i fitted bluestuuf ndx they were great but the pads only lasted 15k

car was serviced 2months ago and new PF pads were fitted but they havent done 10mles yet as im not able to drive just now due top an operation.

and thanks for the info so far folks

+1, I find the first couple of uses a little 'poor' almost like trying to clear a layer of debris of the discs, but after that they are spot on for most driving - normal or enthusiastic:

PF 2 piece discs & PF Z rated pads all round on my daily runner!

Supplied by Alyn 'STOCKCAR' above & fitted by myself!

I had Godspeed 2 piece discs with ds2500 pads on my old WR1 and they were excellent . I never tracked the car but they got some abuse on the road and I never ran out of brakes . Infact it is probably down to these that I wasn't completely blown away by the AP 6 pots on my current car .

Pf on my hawkeye also supplied by alyn

Def not ( overkill

Had PF floating discs with brembo's on my old spec-c RA and they were spot on,now got AP 4 pots on my classic which had worn godspeed disks with AP bells, PF do a replacement disk to go with the AP bells which I went for with 08 pads.

Hi
We have sold hundreds of pairs of these and hear no more stories of them warping as we do PF discs , for you to have a problem , skim them , and have a problem again , I would say its not the disc but something else causing this.

It could be many things , calipers not working right , pad deposits , rust build up under the bell to name a few

bustaMOVEs 06 April 2012 03:14 PM

If youve got the cash pfs all the way, if not then the 2 piece godspeed is ok too.
I have the 335 kit and they are good, get hot very quickley when driven hard but thats about it.
Im gonna try pf next.

We also make bells up to use with the PF discs to bring the cost of them down as they are very expensive

Advice taken Ian, calipers and rotors getting checked to see if there is an issue with them . If there is a problem with the calipers then my apologies to yourself. I still want to upgrade the rotor disc regardless what can you supply that are compatible with your bells , the bells are about 2 years old if that makes any difference .

Running Godspeed 2 piece discs and orangestuff pads on my bug sti and can confirm that work a treat for normal day to day driving

SPEN555 09 April 2012 11:19 AM

I have tried pf and godspeed two piece brakes. For the road imo they r overkill as std discs n pads r fine. I have recently gone back to std discs n pads as I only use the car for to n from work commuting. I used to do track days n the pf set up was v good. When I get round to it I am gonna put the pf rotors up for sale n the godspeed rotos n pads up. Nice cheap discs for a trackday :) I just need to pull my finger out n get some pics taken so I can put em up for sale :)
