2007 legacy sqeaking dual mass flywheel and juddery clutch

I have been told today by a subaru dealer that my juddery clutch and funny squeaking/squealing flywheel are related but nothing to worry about. I am concerned they are fobbing me off as I am trying to get them done under warranty. thay said that the sqeaking flywheel and juddering when pulling away are normal.

Is this right? please help - thanks

is a dual-mass flywheel fitted to a petrol car, if so, why?

Dual mass in non turbo legacy since 2001/2002.

Sounds like excessive play in flywheel so think you,ll be needing a new one

Squeaking iis most prob the DMF on its way out, get a second independant written opinion by either a subaru specialist or clutch specialist, and tell the supplier/warranty peeps that it requires fixing ASAP before warranty runs out, send email and registered delivery letter, stating fault and your expectation of replacement/repair.

Hope it's resolved soon.

Excessive clutch judder isnt really a known issue in the petrol versions more common in the diesel varients. Suggest you local dealer remove for inspection and submit a PWA to subaru with there findings. they have the ultimate decision at the end of the day if the vehicle is under warranty
