Is a MY 03-05 WRX PPP ECU compatible with a MY02 WRX Blob eye?

Part number of the PPP ECU is

22611AH750

and came with the exhaust back and centre sections from the MY 03-05 PPP

Apologies if you already read my previous post last week but i realise it was a bit too long and in the wrong place which may be (?) why nobody responded

Any advice much appreciated

Is there any point buying one of those? Why not just have your own ECU mapped?

I may be wrong even if it did fit, but would it not need mapping to your own car anyway. Exactly how much of a gain you would see may be negligable, is the rest of PPP (or equivalents) fitted?

*EDIT* Ahhh sorry just seen it did come with the exhaust at least ...

First of all let me correct the title of the thread.

The car is a 02 MY Bug not blob

Sorry about that

I bought the whole PPP pack (bar the intercooler pipe) unused in original packaging on e-bay because i wanted the centre pipe and backbox and thought i'd take a chance that the ECU may work because i didn't think there was much difference under the skin between late model bug and the early blob eyes

I bid quite low but 'won' it.:luxhello:

However don't want to waste my garages time and my money if its not a plug and play

If its just a matter of getting keys synced by Subaru then i'm happy to get that done but as you say if it needs a re-map i may as well get that done on the ECU thats in the car except i don't want to spend that much right now

I don't think the blob ecu will be compatible and would need keys programming to try it. Best to fit other ppp parts to car and just get an openecu map for between £250-£350. You could always pop the ppp ecu back on eBay to recoup some costs, they always seen to sell on there.
The bug ppp was only about 240hp I think as opposed to blob 262hp, a custom map with ppp parts should see you nearer the 270hp
