Distinctive Detailing RS500 cosworth detail

I had this RS500 in for some tlc its only done 53k and has been parked in a barn for 11 years and was in need of some loving, the car is in good condition but has the odd paint issue here and there but is a very good base to build a minter from. The owner told me that it was last driven 11 years ago through the farm yard through the cow dung to were it stayed for me to get it from under all the arches:smthumbup

on arrival

Why is it called RS500? 500hp :norty: or limited to 500?

TX.

jono300 24 March 2012 04:18 PM

Why were so many old fords stored in a barn ??!! not the normal place to suddenly think to store your car and yet so many off them end up there only to be found years later. knowing how many were stolen back then no doubt a lot were probably stored there until the heat had died down !!!

have actually been in an old rs500, years ago guy who had it took me for a spirated drive and yes despite major rumblings comming from its gearbox it was one off the fastest cars I have ever been in !!

have to say the overall condition looked not too bad for being stored for all those years thought it would have been worse but suppose with it being under cover etc it was protected so to speak.

supreb job thou, top respect and thanks for sharing the pictures.

smithy86 24 March 2012 04:58 PM

Obviously I can't divulge how much the customer paid for this particular job, but my basic rates are £220 for the first day and £200 thereafter, with various bolt ons available. When it comes to a job like this where other tasks were undertaken, some with the customers parts, it just comes down to us agreeing a price both parties are happy with. This job took 3 days.
