This may be a dumb question, but

Is the boot release lever supposed to work in the STI (mine doesn't)? I thought they might have disabled it due to the weight of that monster spoiler. I would look in the manual, but I ain't got it yet (has anyone!)

Also what's that front cup holder all about, is it actually capable of holding anything

Yes it is supposed to work. Seems a few people have been having trouble with them

Mark,

it's possible to disable the internal release of the boot for security reasons. You'll find a small lever on the internal lock mechanism. FLick this the other way (down I think), and the internal catch will work :)
