Interesting read over on 22B

The dyno that Paul is talking about is where we ran my car.
May have to have a run over to the clinic for another go.

Too right Gaz :lol1:

In all seriousness though we all want accurate figures when we have our cars run, it appears that many are not as accurate as once thought
I'm not too bothered how much power my car is making as it drives perfect for me but would be nice to know what it is actually making, as the figure I got is looking like its well out.

Going from the discusion though it appears that rollers read higher as they get older or worn so the new one's would be a more accurate mark for the figure the car is actually making.

Maybe that's why all the imprezas on eBay are making over 400bhp with just an exhaust and filter...lol.

You are never gonna get an accurate figure off a rolling road, end of story.

Only way to get an accurate engine figure is on an engine dyno, everything else is just estimates and calculations based on the inputs given by the operator, the run down, the condition of the bearings, the contact surfaces and tyres, there are just too many variables.

That's fine.
Dyno test £1000 plus vat, fancy one?

lol, people love to get hung on on figures between dyno's, however they are all guestimates and are a calculated figure. So many things affect the results that no two are exactly the same, and also the dyno can give differing results in differing conditions at different times of the day.

Height above sea level, air pressure, air temp, mosture content etc etc all vary from dyno to dyno and some even hour to hour.
