1st BRZ at the dealership
So i was told that the 1st BRZ has arrived at the dealership and was given the opportunity to run my hands over it and explore the various buttons and knobs before it's official launch. I reckon it would be rude to turn down such an offer. :D
Pity it's the automatic version as the manual is only available upon order. That tells you the majority of drivers here. I'm from Singapore by the way (as some of you may not know) Anyway, enough of words....onto to the pictures! http://i1022.photobucket.com/albums/...Z/IMG_3794.jpg http://i1022.photobucket.com/albums/...Z/IMG_3793.jpg http://i1022.photobucket.com/albums/...Z/IMG_3792.jpg http://i1022.photobucket.com/albums/...Z/IMG_3795.jpg http://i1022.photobucket.com/albums/...Z/IMG_3796.jpg http://i1022.photobucket.com/albums/...Z/IMG_3811.jpg http://i1022.photobucket.com/albums/...Z/IMG_3810.jpg http://i1022.photobucket.com/albums/...Z/IMG_3808.jpg http://i1022.photobucket.com/albums/...Z/IMG_3814.jpg 53:47 weight distribution http://i1022.photobucket.com/albums/...Z/IMG_3815.jpg Yes that's the fender liner! http://i1022.photobucket.com/albums/...Z/IMG_3812.jpg Yep, that's the double wishbone rear suspension from the Impreza http://i1022.photobucket.com/albums/...Z/IMG_3818.jpg The spare wheel also doubles as a bowl to keep lose things in boot when drifting. http://i1022.photobucket.com/albums/...Z/IMG_3817.jpg http://i1022.photobucket.com/albums/...Z/IMG_3820.jpg http://i1022.photobucket.com/albums/...Z/IMG_3821.jpg Side lights can also be used as day time running lights http://i1022.photobucket.com/albums/...Z/IMG_3822.jpg http://i1022.photobucket.com/albums/...Z/IMG_3819.jpg http://i1022.photobucket.com/albums/...Z/IMG_3823.jpg Rib in roof probably adds rigidity http://i1022.photobucket.com/albums/...Z/IMG_3800.jpg Production date now on chassis plate. http://i1022.photobucket.com/albums/...Z/IMG_3832.jpg http://i1022.photobucket.com/albums/...Z/IMG_3825.jpg On first impression, i went....oh my that's a beautiful car there! Probably not something you'll say about a Subaru often.:lol1: It's really a lovely looking car, like a proper sports car. The sitting position is spot on too, and very low. Unfortunately a test drive is not possible, but i did start the motor - revved it a little. Drive by wire throttle feels almost like a drive by cable set up. Linear response from pedal, which is a good thing if you ask me. Steering wheel is quite small as well and is a quickish 2.5 turns lock to lock. Front seats are quite supportive, rear seats are hopeless to be honest even though i'm quite tiny in stature. Soft touch dashboard and the switchgear has a nice tactile feel to it. Quite nice indeed. :thumb: Overall, you get a sense that it will drive like a drivers' car and i quite like it.:thumb: |
Like the look of body ;)
Wheels terrible. Interior looks cheap in pics. Arms etc underneath look like tin Ie cheap. But only in pics in person it may look better |
:) it needs a wing of some sort! otherwise i cant wait for some company to mildly kit it out
|
I think it looks great
|
I agree on wheels, they just dont fill the arches, and you were excited, you left a stain on the drivers seat lol,
the wing and a small front lip will come when they do a facelift of it, keeps us interested. |
Really good review. We got to see it in the flesh about a month ago and it's a really good looking car.
|
Looks nice. Would be a great daily driver I reckon - cheap to buy, cheap to run, cheap to insure, but great fun on a wet roundabout :-)
|
I like that actually. Been looking at the pics on the net and it looks better in your pics. Nice job.

liking that, really nice, cheers for the pics

Post edited............got the wrong end of the stick as usual.
|
looks good,
I am hoping for a sporty TDI version to use as my daily driver, don’t think It will happen but I can hope. |
Lovin' the exterior, wheels could fill the arches more like some have said. The interior I'm not so hot on though - seats not bad but dash/centre console is not great IMHO.
Guess it's all a matter of taste!!! |
Exterior nice (well with a few subtle mods), interior, well dash, centre console and steering wheel all look very American, and not in a good way!
And why would you have green lights on the head unit and orange elsewhere, lets hope you can switch colours like you could on the old pioneers! |
any idea why they have put that spare wheel in like that? I take it this is not the STI?
|
what was the final power output on this and what engines are available?
|
For the side it's like a higher version of an Aston Martin V8 Vantage.
Can't wait to see a 2.0 or a 2.5 STi block in it! |

Soft touch dash and what seems like improved quality plastics. So that they can sell you their STI wheels.;) http://stwot.motortrend.com/files/20...ts-623x439.jpg

Looks good, but why is it on stilts??? It needs to be lowered immediately, the arch gap is ridiculous for a 'sporty' car.
|
Looks very tidy, can't wait for the STI option:norty:
|
its an awesome product and cant wait for it to be launched.
|
Side view looking similar to Aston Martin Vantage, especially rear quarters with its sculptured arches.....very nice looking car, better in the blue;)
|
To be honest i seem to be the only person who thinks this car looks crap. I can imagine the STI version will look spot on, beefier bumpers, decent alloys, spoiler and the all important turbo.
Just not a fan of the exterior guys, it reminds me of the Hatch Impreza, the STI version looks no bad, but the Non Turbo looks so basic and boring. Im quite keen on the interior though, it looks alot nicer than previous Subarus. |
Fantastic looking car
Never seen as many people on scoobynet actually excited and saying a new Subaru is good looking :D It's a winner and the future of Subaru in the uk Looking forward to it |

Why has subaru not joined the rest of the world and ditched that daft head unit with a proper screen and sat nav?
Im not sure, need to see it for real to decide... |
