Latest Prodriverules project.

As it's become accustom for me to post my work on members cars I felt it was time to let you all in on my latest one.
This particular car belonds to Dan or kirstybum as you probably know him.
I am undertaking a lot of work on this one so I hope you all like the work and progress.

Obviously the first Job was to get the car on the stands and remove the glass from front/rear and quartersa long with trims and the front wings
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/...g?t=1331573685
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/...g?t=1331573350
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/...g?t=1331572969
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/...g?t=1331572907http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/...g?t=1331572845

Now the first Job on the list was to relocate the fuse box to the inner wing area along with removing the battery tray as Dan wants to run a battery in the boot and also relocate the washer bottle to the boot.
Firstly we needed to get the fuse box through the inner wing panel so we cut a hole big enough to get it through and then set about finding the right location for the fuse box to sit while still being able to fit the wing on.
We then welded in some new steel to make the hole the right shape for the box to slightly protrude through to allow access to it.
We have still to make a bracket to hold the fuse box in place and make a cover for the box so it hides it up nicely thus giving a flushed smooth inner wing area free from everything.
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/...g?t=1331573463
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/...g?t=1331576752
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/...g?t=1331576690
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/...g?t=1331576804
This is how it lloked once we had removed the battery tray and finalised the hole for box and also smoothed it all with filler
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/...g?t=1331576920

Next job was the O/S inner wing smoothing as Dan wanted this side to match the opposite,we cut a steel plate to cover the hole and then smoothed to finish.
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/...g?t=1331576979
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/...g?t=1331577041
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/...g?t=1331577091

Then to break thing up abit I set about getting the rest of the sound proofing from inside the car as Dan expressed that the car may become a pure track day based car at some point and wanted the floor pan painting so if the carpest ever get binned it will look great inside as well.
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/...g?t=1331577743

We also set to the tub with the DA in preparation for it's high build primer after removing the door handles/locks
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/...g?t=1331577467
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/...g?t=1331577524
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/...g?t=1331577414

Next on the list was to remove the boot floor/spare wheel well so we can fit a alloy flat one which serves 2 purposes.firstly as we are relocting the battery to the boot along with washer bottle it will be great to make brackets to hold said parts inplace and also Dan mentioned that at some point he may want a rear diffuser so it will be ready to just cut the bumper and fit.http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/...g?t=1331577635
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/...g?t=1331577579
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/...g?t=1331577691

That's it for now but more to follow very shortly along with some pic's of the goodies that will be gracing this bad boywhich are tucked up in my workshop:norty:

It doesn't fit the same in a classic inner wing Neil so can't go upright and also when the 'customer' is paying it has to be done within a budget unlike your own vehicle;)

Watch on my thread to see how I do mine mate;)

kirstybumx3 14 March 2012 07:18 AM

Oiiii ryan!!!! Nancy boy??? Lol

Only got this stupid name because I can't log onto my name and kirst had one up for herself and I took over :p haha.

I know I'm paying and all but think the budget went out the window a very long time ago. When you post up pictures of all the goodies to go on it lol.

I want mine tidy, better than yours ;) chop chop get to it!!! Lol

Also what plates do I run on this one?

1) Scooby plate?
2) H8 evu - h8 evo plate?
3) Dan's plate?

Idea's please people thanks :)

Ps ryan did you get the pics over to chris about that custom part? Let me know the price please

Neil you got a pm coming your way....

Neil.. 15 March 2012 08:51 PM

Replied to Dan. :)

Ryan, wasn't any kind of dig, and I understand how it is working for customers.

However, I also realise what working to a budget means, my car is not a money no object project, quite the opposite in fact.
Most of what happens on my car is brought about by not being able to simply spend spend spend, and dictates the route I take. :)

I reckon you could up-sell to your customers, by simply showing them what is possible and what you can do... ;)

prodriverules 15 March 2012 08:55 PM

Appreciated Neil but as time IS money you would owe a mountain of it if someone had spent the time you have on your car mate and tbho seeing as the fuse box isn't even finished yet I didn't feel a comment like that was called for;)

kirstybumx3 27 March 2012 08:01 AM

What you been doing for the last week and a half ryan? ;)

prodriverules 27 March 2012 08:49 PM

How do Dan,not mine or yours I'm afraid the last week or so with a mountain of work there, infact I haven't even touched mine since entering the workshop:(

Still crack on as they say,I will posting some pic's of the goodies tomorrow as I have them on the camera but just need time to upload to photobucket.

Tbho the way it's going at work so busy I may break mine as I will never be able to complete it:cry:

Sorry about that bud,I'm in and out of the booth like a mad thing lately and the mechanical side are just as busy so we do miss a few calls.

We'll have a chat tomorrow about the part;)

On mine I just can't see any light at the end of the tunnel at the moment, but I think you will like my new wheels I have for it[if I do it]:norty:

prodriverules 06 May 2012 04:56 PM

Update time,it's been a while on this one due to a massive work load and some issue's of a medical nature with my right man which have left me on my own a lot of the time over the past month or so but all's well now and we are firing on all cylinders once more.

We got to work sorting a few dents in the quarter panels/wings and doors so we could get some high build primer on them for blocking and also some in the engine bay inner wings area's.
The door shuts/window area's/back side of panel's are in fairly decent condition so will only require wet on wet before painting.
Here's the panels in primer
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/...g?t=1336316612
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/...g?t=1336318199
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/...g?t=1336318145
Wings are only resting on the car not bolted
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/...g?t=1336318084
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/...g?t=1336318020
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/...g?t=1336317953
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/...g?t=1336317878
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/...g?t=1336317806
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/...g?t=1336317673
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/...g?t=1336317609

Now I thought it was time to share some of the trick bits that are going into the project,to be fair Dan will be using some very nice parts in this project, here are a few of them to wet you appetite:norty:
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/...g?t=1336317542
These's coilovers although a little dusty due to being in the workshop are like brand new,a little wipe off and they are ready for fitting
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/...g?t=1336317471
AP racing brakes for front and rear
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/...g?t=1336317409
This a split tank made from carbon fibre which will be where the washer fluid and Meth will be housed in the boot:norty:
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/...g?t=1336317354

There are more parts here with me yet like some whiteline goodies but there will be in the next update!
The next step will be to finish the removal of the dash and fill over the last couple of holes in the bulkhead area and remove the engine so it's easier to paint the engine bay.
When that is done we can finish up the boot cutting/remove fuel lines and some wiring from the inside and make it good for painting and get her in the booth where we will get her on axle stands and remove the suspension and paint the inside, inner arch area's and engine bay together.
