Possible coil pack problem?
 

Hi i think i have a problem with my coil pack on my turbo 2000 X reg anyone no the symptoms of a knackered one and if it is knackered how much should i pay for one and where from cheers

Misfire? Could be just the leads?

Could also just be a plug or an injector getting stuck What issues are you having?

got a problem when accelarating it starts bouncing around like a kangaroo misfiring it seems to be ok under gentle accelaration its only when you put your toe down a little

I was having the same problem went to change the spark plugs but on closer inspection the coil packs had hairline cracks which open on load.

just a quick update, i changed the coilpacks and now the car is totally transformed its a lot smoother and feels as if it has more power :)

Does sound like an ignition issue. I had the same after a remap. Prior to said remap the car was fine. Afterwards it started misfiring at full boost in a range of situations. Changed plugs from NGK 6's to 7's incase they couldn't cope. Nope, not them. Took off leads Bd coil pack and cleaned, inspected. Seemed fine but the issue was still there. Borrowed some known working leads and coil pack off an identical car from a friend. Swapped round, issue gone! So it was either a faulty lead or duff coil pack. But to the eye you couldn't see anything wrong.

I'd personally try the same unless you have £90 for new ht leads and £160 for a new coilpack. Trust me I did the research into prices.

I have just solved a similar problem. I first changed spark plugs, to no avail. and then the symptoms got conciderably worse until it was virtually undriveable with juddering acceleration on very low on power. I looked at HT leads, all seemed to look OK. So i went ahead and bought a new coil pack for £120. Fitted this, the problem was still there. Even worse if anything. I then noticed sparks tracking from coilpack HT leads end, to block. I proceeded to change the HT leads and all problems were fixed. Car is running the best I've ever known it.
Back up to origional power, feels really nice.
