JDM speedo dials

I was wondering anybody out there that drives a newage impreza jdm model that has the Kmh clocks with the luminisant lights behind them how to you change the Kmh area that is lit up with Mph because i dont think a Mph sticker over it will look the best.Or i was wondering how do litchfield do it on their models?? If any of you have pictures of how ye over came this problem it would be greatly appreciated.

most people put a little sticker just over the k, so your clocks then say m/h
asuming of course that the speedo chip has been fitted

Cheers mate but do you see the way the kmh is backlit? is there no other way around having to put a sticker over it? Maybe im just being too fussy...

as i say above if you just cover the k part of km/h then the m/h will still be backlit.
as far as i know this is the only way to do it

I've got a little black sticker over mine. You can't see the K but if you are the sort of person who gets annoyed by little things then it could be annoying, it isn't exactly elegant.

For my STi 5, I made my own little "mph" stickers in CorelDraw.

After printing them out on a thick 120-150gsm satin laser printer paper, I laminated them and put double-sided on the back, then cut them out using a 10A scalpel/metal ruler.

Their background colour (white), and style/size/font colour (black), matches the "rpm" legend on the tacho. :)

Been on the speedo for about 18 months now and no sign of fading or peeling away. :)

Obviously, as you say, it cannot light up when it's dark, but it's no biggie. For no £s, it's rather groovy.

My jdm also just has a little tape over the k, no other way of doing it really as due to it being backlit a transfer wouldnt light up with the backlight, can be seen, but a small price to pay for the extras the jdm has. Only really neat way round it would be to fit uk hawkeye clocks that a dual scaled so have mph and kmh on them as std.

But the uk hawk eye dash has got me thinkin does anybody have this done and will all my DCCD lights etc work i know its going to be an expensive fix, but it will look great tho wont it....

I`m not sure if you get the same issues as you do if you are putting them in a WRX or not, Best bet would be to find someone with a UK hawk who`s willing and swap the clocks over to see, 5 Screws and 3 connector blocks(remember to lower the steering column as it makes it a bit easier to access) It only takes 5 mins to do :thumb:
