Help engine needed

Checked mine over today and it appears to be knackered.
I have water in the oil, and 0 compression on cylinders 1+3, while 2+4 are at 50psi. :(

I need to find an engine please. Just need a running engine, consisting of heads and block. This way I can use my inlet manifold, injectores, water, oil pump etc.:norty:

Anyone got a spare lying around??:thumb:

Yes mate, thats right

I used those cometic gakets, and just seem to have failed really quickly. Im looking into cracked heads or block next.............:wonder:

In the mean time I need a running engine so I can sort this one

Yeah chris that right.
I had a valve fail end of December on way back from Devon........to much boost not enough fuel:nono:
was running 23psi on 440`s so was only a matter of time :(

Didnt think those gaskets were that cheap ???

Are these something people stay away from then??

giz1978 23 February 2012 08:22 PM

no
the fibre gasket are ok on std engine but if your running good bhp the metal layed only

sbushby 23 February 2012 08:32 PM

Apparently they were 5 layer steel gaskets!!!!

But , the car has thrown up a few strange ones!! Appears it has a v1-v2 bottom end, based on tensioners. But v3 heads and ancillaries???:(

is this possible, will v3 bits fit v2 block??

chris_wrx 23 February 2012 10:04 PM

yeah v1-4 long motors are interchangeable its the manifolds and power steering and other ancilleries are different

sbushby 23 February 2012 10:18 PM

Interesting, but I want to get mine back to all v3...........
