8000K is just the colour temperature..shouldnt be blinding unless adjusted wrong

Yep, had another one last night. Even with auto dimming mirrors the fecker was dazzling me. They are illegal & dangerous, period.

Generalisation.

You may get people that put in higher wattage bulbs (not necessarily HIDs) which are blinding, or on older cars the reflectors may deflect the light differently as they werent designed for HID bulbs, thus can be blinding. Cant just assume this is the case with this chap.

I have 8000 Kelvin HID bulbs in my Hawkeye, bulb is a 35W D2S HID just the same as standard, no more blinding.

The only illegal aspect therefore is the colour temperature, and to be honest you shouldnt get too much hassle with 6-8000K

I can't really be arsed to argue about it, but you are saying they are sort of illegal, when in reality unless xenons, or HID's as they are known are fitted by a car manufacturer (or retrofitted to the same standard using genuine parts), then they are fecking illegal, no if's, no but's - look the law up or ask a copper!

Now, whether or not they will get you pulled over is another matter, many variables to consider, but if the lights are setup correctly & not bright blue then probably not. Trouble most of the cars I see fitted with them are poorly adjusted, dazzling every b@stard on the road & usually some twunt in a barried corsa/spaxo/scoob.

Anyway, its beer-o-clock & time for my tablet....

...hence why dangerous, period is a generalisation :D strictly not legal though no..

Just remember when i put a conversion on my old Leon R i was very conscious of blinding people and ensured the adjustment was bob on etc.

Just didnt want this poor guy to feel a C**t when he may have taken the care to adjust properly etc because he didnt want old school orange lights :)

I agree, you do see a lot on barried sheds usually driving like tw*ts!....though Its the old nobs with normal headlights round my way that always forget to dip their normal lights that usually get me :Whatever_

Anyway, back on topic!

Friends? :lol1:
