Personally, I would.. I'm not saying anyone else should, but I couldn't stand by and just watch.

Agreed.. I have seen people let their dogs run out over frozen lakes in Cumbria. There is a time and place to let your dog off, and that certainly wasn't it..

How exactly when you have minutes to save it?

I would have done for my dog. Not sure I'd do it for someone elses if theyre stood watching themselves tbh. Hard to say until you are in that position.

Jaybird-UK 13 February 2012 07:28 PM

I doubt my dogs would ever get in that situation but I'm afraid to say I would attempt to rescue them if they did

CharlySkunkWeed 13 February 2012 07:29 PM

i would . Id probably do it even if it wasnt my pet. Though i wouldnt blindly jump into a frozen lake or anything daft. Anyways , how many times have you heard of the owner dying , and the pet survivng anyway ! They can usually cope better that we think !

We dont let our cat out.

pimmo2000 13 February 2012 09:32 PM

Sadly yes and yes even if it wasnt my dog ..

I'd do it for a duck .. or a pigeon ..
