FAO Mods, help required please

I've tried PMing Stuart a couple of times, but he's abvously too busy:

Here's most of the PM:

I've been a long standing member and contributed a fair bit since joining in 2004. I've uploaded a fair number of pictures over the years, but I made the mistake of using my works web server to store images.

They've asked if I can remove the images, for a number of reasons and I have to comply. The problem I have is it's not going to be practicle for me to edit all the posts I made with the new image location.

So can your script junkies write something that would change the image paths on all my posts?

I was hoping some SQL script could change the domain part of all my links to the new site? It would probably take a few seconds to modify all the links in one go http://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/sr...ilies/wink.gif

It would be a shame to loose my contribution to the site.

Cheers

Anders

As a paying customer, I think it's fair to ask for some technical support ;)

Can't see the SQL taking more than 5-10 minutes for a competant programmer who knows their database inside out.

The other option is for me to ask that all my posts are removed, hopefully the mods value my contribution enough to find a solution.

Can you upload the folder of images to another server without changing any of the filenames?

Can you get all of the images off your work server and into a zip file or something at the very least?

cheers,
robb

wait, you've already moved them to a new server keeping the filenames in tact? you just need the urls replaced in your posts?

No prob, send me the info via PM.

Yes, I downloaded the all the images and uploaded to the new server keeping the same file paths the same after the domain. I'll PM the details :thumb:

Once the new URL's are in place, I can delete the image files off the work server - at the moment they are live on both servers.
