Faulken or arrow speed

I normally have Faulken but someone has now mentioned arrow speed which are apparently part of Goodyear, any advise will be appreciated peeps, both budget tyres. I have a classic version 4 running 300/300

barnshaw 11 February 2012 10:50 AM

why would you want either? i would want a decent make of tyres , especially with 300bhp. spend a little bit more and get some decent rubber, not worth skrimping on

rcak7 11 February 2012 10:57 AM

What should I be looking for then? I don't want to be paying out silly money

Good advice, after all it's the only thing (hopefully) that's touching the road ;)

I have Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 not the cheapest but get good reviews :- http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre/Go...ymmetric-2.htm

why are you buying ditch finders, dont buy rubbish, tyres are one of the most important parts of a high performance cars.

only an idiot would fit nangkang, arrow or the like to a car like an impreza

rcak7 11 February 2012 11:14 AM

How's toyo?

tubbytommy 11 February 2012 11:16 AM

toyo t1rs are a reasonable tyre and are not a bad price

rcak7 11 February 2012 11:18 AM

Quoted £400

TonyBurns 11 February 2012 11:25 AM

Vredstein sessanta's or the likes, about 100 quid per corner and very good :D

Tony:)

tubbytommy 11 February 2012 11:33 AM

as tony says sessantas are an excellent tyre.

i found them great in both wet and dry, if you get these for £100 a corner i would take them.

Bargain, anyone would be foolish to put cheap/nasty tryes instead of these.

i think the answer is dont put cheap nasty ditch finder tyres on an impreza i.e nankang, arrow, kwik fit own brand.

use a good make, people will have different opinions on which are best but all will be better than cheap nasty budget tyres.

Davey L 11 February 2012 12:49 PM

I've got Falken Fk542's on the blob wrx and the Litchfield and have no problems with them in the wet, dry or on snow. The Litchfield is running 400bhp and and i've never had an issue with grip or the car throwing it's self into a ditch....

DEANO1988 11 February 2012 01:02 PM

ive got falken ze912s reasonable price, no problems touch wood, obviously not as good as tyres £100 plus a corner, but i dont push the limits, take a look on tyrereviews.co.uk if you want to compare.

whats your budget?

M444GY 11 February 2012 01:04 PM

arowspeed are kwiksh!ts own brand of budget , they are rubbish (ditchfinders) , as above we have fitted falken to big power cars without any problems and the feedback has always been good .

Shaun 11 February 2012 01:12 PM

You pay for what you get with tyres.... plain and simple.

Most the brands being mentioned on this thread are budget, plain and simple.

Why on earth people skimp on tyres for a performance car is utterly beyond me. It's probably THE most important part of your car.

:cuckoo:

A 400bhp Litchfield car with crap Falken's on it.... mental!

Nowt wrong with Falken 452s.

When Bob Rawle mapped my classic a few years back he had them on his 400bhp (or was it 500 - can't remember) daily driver, and rated them very highly.

So I bought some after that for mine and I thought they were great :)

rcak7 11 February 2012 01:22 PM

£320-360 two different Faulken but I'm edging towards the toyos at £380. Had a few tyre people advise which I appreciate.

MattyB1983 11 February 2012 01:22 PM

Eagle F1's on my car (400+ classic), they are a pretty good all round tyre but when Im ready for my next set I'll go Toyo's again.

Finbin 11 February 2012 01:24 PM

I normally use Toyo T1R and get them from Camskill. quick look on their web site and they have these:-
VREDESTEIN SPORTRAC 3 for £74.53 + P&P
http://www.camskill.co.uk/m62b0s300p..._50R16_87V_TL_

Anybody used these before?

DEANO1988 11 February 2012 02:05 PM

Sessanta's, you would be foolish not to buy them over falken or Toyo tbh.

Tony:D

tubbytommy 11 February 2012 02:23 PM

you guys are idiots i use these on my impreza, why would you waste money on pointless things like tyres??
http://www.tyresunlimited.co.uk/sect...long-car-tyres
