Speed sensor?
 

Hey guys!
My first post on a new forum with a new car, somewhat refreshing.

Last weekend I was driving home from work in my fiat coupé 20VT and then the big end decided to go, rattling like a bag of spanners I put it in the garage and there sha has sat ever since. So needing a new car, I decided to get myself something cheap and cheerful to run while I fixed the fiat… however nothing cheap and cheerful was available so I got this instead:

She’s a 1996 import WRX, with an aftermarket head unit and 3” stainless system (full system).
I got her cheap because she needs a bit of work doing to her, first of all is the speed sensor, it’s not working for whatever reason. Now, I’d like to take it out, check it and if needed, replace it but I have no idea where it is.

Can anyone point it out to me please?



Also, does anyone know if these speed sensors are common between all Imprezas?

I have a friend who can get me parts if I tell him what to get (technically I have two, one for new parts and one fore second hand ones). Currently the car is throwing a check engine light because of the problem and I’m having to guess my speed but I think I’ve been doing well, I just don’t take it over 1500RPM when in 4th for 30mph and not over 2500RPM for 70mph, If I come to a 15mph limit I have to get out and push :mad:
