Laptop email question
 

I have outlook express for my email on the PC and have also installed it onto a laptop as well.
The laptop gets the internet from a wireless link from the router connected to the PC, internet is fine
I cannot get email on the laptop though?
I registered another email address (virginmedia) but it wont connect?

I've tried changing the IP, etc so they're both the same on each computer but still no luck

Any ideas (in simple none techy jargon please) :)

Wrong! Though I assume that they're both on the network at the same time?

Have you set up Outlook Express EXACTLY the same as on the PC? Same mailservers, security settings, username, etc etc? If so it should work. What happens when you try to get your email?

And is it a pop or imap account? If pop it could just be that there is no email to download because it's already downloaded to the PC.

Do you mean both computers switched on together? tried that but still wont work

I'm trying the new email address on the laptop, should i use the same email as on the PC? can i change it to 2nd email address?

I've changed the settings so POP3 and SMTL are identical but still wont work?

mate, why don't you just call Virgin Media?

No! The opposite. Do NOT give both computers the same ip address and then have them both on. They will complain about it .... :nono:



If you want to receive the same email on both machines then you need to use the same email address. If both email "settings" are the same then it should work.
