Bloody copper today! Grrrr
A marked Focus passed me on the A30 today, a stretch of dual carrriageway between Cornwall & Devon.
I was sitting in the inside lane at the speed limit (70mph) and he creeps passed at probably 75mph, no big deal, they usually get away with a bit more than we would. That's not normally an issue, I'd rather they just got on with their day instead of what happened today, which I have NEVER seen before in two decades of driving. He decided he was going to pull in and sit infront of me at 70mph, sometimes dropping to 65mph if there was an incline. What really p!ssed me off was even when he slowed to 65mph, he wouldn't let ANYONE overtake. He would put the flashing lights on and wave at people to slow down and pull in behind him! I counted 4 cars that tried creeping passed, not taking the piss and you usually know what you can get away with if they are driving slower than normal but no, not this guy! Why the fcuk are they allowed to overtake YOU at above the speed limit but you can't overtaken them AT the speed limit. Really grinds my gears! Rant over :norty: |
maybe there was an incident reported further up the road and he didn't want drivers going too fast in case the crashed into it?
|
Yeh, I thought that at first but after about 15 miles I figured he was just being a cnut lol
|
report him .. they take things like this very seriously ..
|
Not sure how cold it's been down South, but oop North we've had black ice on major roads.
There were 97 reported incidents on the A66 alone today. It was shut down. Maybe he was slowing cars down so they don't crash on black ice |

Usually if the police are slowing traffic for safety reasons, they'll take the centre line and have the lights on full-time.
|
Sounds like another power hungry back & front to me.

Most either drive at 65 or above 70 so either way you don't have them infront or behind for a long time. This guy was acting weird. |
Maybe your just pissedoff because the boro lost to the scum last night ;)
|
Sorry mate, don't follow football lol.

Maybe it was his turn to annoy the local gay boy then. ;) What time of day was it? You were either in a rush to watch Loose Women, or getting back to watch your Sex in the City Dvd. :D |
Again, no idea what those are but seems like you do ;-)
Sounds like there's a raving homo bursting to get out of you lol |
maybe you should respect the policemans authority, **** up and do as he said.
Too many know their rights, yet don't know when to **** up. Broke Britian ffs. |
Perhaps the incident was behind you and they were slowing traffic down to cause a road block.
How did the focus leave you |

........... How did the focus leave you Amazed OP hasn't hasn't seen this before in 2 decades of driving. I've seen it quite a few times (but in 4 decades) - obviously slowing traffic down for probably a good reason. dl |
If it was a marked focus then i doubt they were even traffic- more likely local bobbies on a power trip.
If its anything like where iam in Somerset, the marked and unmarked traffic cars are BMW 5 series estates /X5 as they need to carry alot of bits and pieces. |
sounds like a rolling road block

Not a lot to do down in carrot crunching land to be honest. Sheep worrying died out when the Taffs won the World Championships, the Beast of Bodmin has moved up to Stroud, and until summer starts there is not a lot of action going on. Poor Plod he was probably just board.
|
Would that be a directors' board?

Oh yes :lol1: |
Might be on coppers next week...
|
The Focus was a police car from Cornwall travelling to a training event in Exeter. No accidents, black ice or anything that would need a rolling road block.
|
Strange business then, perhaps he was practising how to do that before he got to the training event.

Would just go past him at 77, its still legal power hungry tw%t
|
Sounds more like intimidation to me. Are you sure it was a police car as not all unmarked (covert) are police cars
|
Maybe they were just bored and decided to f*ck with you.............

Umm. No it's not. There is a "theory" that they allow you a lee-way of speed-limit+10% - thus 77 on an m'way. However, that is NOT the law. Look up speed limits in the Highway Code. Or just cruise past a motorway cop at 77 and report back ..... :thumb:
