Is it possible to fit a new age engine with avcs heads into a V5 classic?
As above, would the V5 inlet manifold fit? I know it would require some extra wires to the ecu and that the simtek software will need an update
|
To get the AVCS working you would have to change the ECU to one capable of running it
|
I believe that the manifold will fit, don't know about simtek being able to but I'd assume it can, syvecs can
|
yeah I know that mate I've already got a simtek ecu which I know can be sent back and reprogrammed.
What I want to know is , will it physically fit? i.e. can I use my original inlet manifold |

Can anyone else confirm that the inlet manifold will fit and will only need some wiring to the ecu and mapped
|
The new simtec, syvecs and motel can run AVCS.
|
yes v5 manifold patern is the same

Thanks guys so a new age avcs is what I'm looking for then, any idea of power they can handle in standard form?
|
i have a 38k mile WR1 engine there. £1575 incl Delivery Long Engine.
They handle 420bhp. People have them up at more |
To put prices into perspective I bought a 2004 uk sti engine with 45k on the clock, it came with a few little extra goodies like cosworth sump baffle and even came with injectors, the engine was complete apart from the exhaust and A/C pump and set me back just over a grand.

Just keep looking and the bargains do pop up. I'm sure you'll find a couple in the classified section.
Cheers Ian. |
