AFAIK, nobody out there has actually ran both turbos back to back, so they are basing their experience on an opinion.

The SC46 single scroll is nothing short of amazing on a Hatch.
This one is running a built engine on a 16% meth mix.

Is that a 2.1 or 2.0? Figures are crazy!

It's a 2.5 mate but dont worry even for a 2.5 they are exceptionally damn good.

Was gana say!!

Very nice Martyn, almost as much torque as my 2.1 Twin Scroll. The SC46 Single does seem to produce nice results.

Owen do of course make single scroll turbos to order, Ive driven on them with Time Attack cars at circa 500BHP and they performed very nicely, i dont have any dyno plots though.

Not bad at all for 1.6 bar is it John ? ;)

I have driven a few cars fitted with Owen Developments Subaru single scroll hybrids over the years. They have unfortunately not impressed me in terms of spool vs output when compared to the likes of the MD, SC and Turbo Technics range of hybrids also available at the time.
They never failed to deliver the power, just lacked the response of the other turbos designed for the outputs in question.
They may have made great strides recently, but as of yet I haven't tested anything more recent than 3 years old.

It's very good Martyn, cars with that sort of torque curve are great to drive, mine is certainly entertaining now. :D

Things always move on, turbo's in the Subaru world certainly have the last 3 years. I would think if they can make a twin scroll work as well as they have with mine, they would be more than capable of providing a good single scroll, twin scroll is a much harder proposition to get right.

It's great that we now have all these choices, i remember when i first started with Subaru's it was a national event when someone hit 300BHP on our chocolate engines, and they were very crudely done to achieve that. :D

We soon see what a sc46 twin on 2.1 makes :)

Then we will see how it owns aswel like a B053 :)

Paulo Spec C should be interesting to watch there, he now has the same spec turbo as mine on a stock MY03 Spec C engine and Chevron TMIC, being mapped tomorrow.

John: how did this work out?

I have a standard Spec C engine and am considering turbo and intercooler options for next season so naturally I'm very interested in the results of this test....

If you are refering to how Paul got on, then he won the S2 class at Teeside and won the championship as a result. I finished 2nd and finished 2nd in the championship.

With regards to how my engine is performing the last RR plots are in this post https://www.scoobynet.com/showpost.p...&postcount=145 basically it's producing about 540lbft, 473BHP.

Pauls engine was mapped to just 1.5BAR, he doesn't have any RR plots. One of these turbos has just been fitted to a JDM Hatch 2.0, so if i get feedback from that once mapped i'll update the thread.

MadUsa1 13 December 2012 07:52 PM

Thanks for the feedback and congratulations on the results.

Would be great to see some re graphs on a standard engine.

Any new updates on a JDM 2.0L with the Owen Twin Scroll?

I'll see if i can get an update.
